In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Greetings
I'm an reptile importer outside of the States and I happen to have the chance of visiting California for my vacation. I was thinking of also visiting some breeders during this time if possible. Does any one have any recomendations?
Thanks for any input.
Wish everyone a great holiday season.

What part of CA are you going to be in? Northern or Southern? Be happy to give you some ideas. :)

Thanks for recomending the two breeder.

I will start my trip in LA, but I'm also thinking of going to the Herp World Expo in San Jose which is northern CA, so any recomendation for large breeder in CA would be nice.

Thanks

Well if you are going to be in San Jose, then I also recommend Brian Gundy of For Goodness Snakes (http://www.for-goodness-snakes.com/about.html). Brian is a really awesome guy with some killer BPs and Boa Constrictors and I do believe he gives tours.

Another person you might want to contact is Dave Colling of Rainbows R Us (http://rainbows-r-us-reptiles.com/about us.htm) he is also in the south bay area and has an awesome collection of Boa Constrictors and Rainbow Boas.

Up in my area in the East Bay is another well known boa breeder, Alex Barreiro of Boa Republic (http://boarepublic.com/indexv3.html) who deals with boas, bps and some other exotic species as he deals with imports/exports as well. I do not know if he gives tours.

In fact, best to contact these people ahead of time via email or phone of course. ;)

Another person in my area is Doug Price who does pythons, monitors and boas(http://www.priceanimal.com/) he is also in the East Bay.

That's all I can think of off-hand. There seem to be more reptile people in SoCal but I haven't lived there since the late 90s and don't know any contacts for that area off-hand.

When you are up here in NorCal, please don't forget to check out the East Bay Vivarium in Berkely (http://www.eastbayvivarium.com/) it's our largest reptile shop here in the bay and they carry quite a variety of species.

Hope this helps and hopefully your trip will be a lot of fun!

Thanks April!!!
That sure was helpful and very valuable information that you have provided.

Julie of Gecko Ranch also has a great name and a great set-up--she does mostly leopard geckos and day geckos, with a few other goodies thrown in. She's a great, friendly lady, and seems happy to give tours of her place. She's located in Sacramento.

In SoCal, Allen Repashy is one of the biggest. He mostly does crested geckos and other rhacs. I don't know him personally, and I don't know if he gives tours (I know he does an 'open house' every so often) but he's one of the big names in the gecko trade.
