    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

LAY BIN FOR DRAGONS. PLUS A BOUNS! Dragons laying, babies hatching GOOD stuff here

Phantom Dragon Yellow Italian Leatherback het Hypo X Georgia BD Yellow Hypopastel X Dragon Whispers. So out of the 20 that hatched i got 11 leathers not a bad ratio all 11 leathers that are super smooth.

Thanks man. The smoothie cross isn't a super high color cross, but I'm hoping just to get smoother dragons and selectively produce a better smoothie and understand their genetics a bit better. There seems to be some variation in the dragons as far as how smooth they are....some are smooth, some are reduced scale, and some are normal.

Here is a pic of older siblings from this year and it shows some of the variation from normal to smooth.

After a couple of breedings I would love to see some of those Classic Chris Allen reds breed into these guys. That is a nice variety of smoothness, that micro-scaled one in the middle would be a good dragon to work with in the future.

Keep them pics coming:)

Finally

So when i started this thread, i added a female that was laying eggs in the "lay Bin"
Today is exactly the 70 day mark and they finally decided to pop some heads out. This was the first time i crossed this exact pair.

He was a double het leatherback. and she was a hypo het trans ( well she was never proven to be a trans... Until now)

I added a few pics of a hypo and a normal hatching and what appers to be a hypo translucent. the missin dark markings on that particular dragons head Show to be a hypo trans, but i could be wrong. We will find out when it hatches. OR It could be a hypo trans leatherback. time will tell!!!

Lol, i want to know if the hypo trans is a leatherback?

Breeding hets, your odds are low with getting many high end dragons out of a clutch. Like rolling the dice.

Wow Tom, you got really lucky on that breeding. I can't wait to see pics of those little ones.

The luck of the roll my friend, they have all hatched but one. when i get the others cleaned up i will post pics and then its time for alittle "counting"
What hatched from: normals, hypos, hypo leathers, hypo trans, and hypo trans leatherbacks. unfortunately i didnt get a trans leatherback, but maybe in here double clutch there will be one:thumbsup:

I dunno whats wrong but its not letting me load pictures on here???

The only hypo trans leatherback from this clutch. First picture coming outta the eggs.

The second picture is the dragons bathing. you can see the hypo trans leatherback with its hypo trans sibling.

That Hypo. Trans. Leather is a keeper for sure, did you get more clutches from this same pairing?
What are you using for incubation substrate? I've used Vermiculite for a couple of years now and the only big issue I have is mold, I'm looking for some alternatives. Maybe hatchrite, dunno maybe something will work better so I can keep my hatch rate up.

Congrats Tom those are some pretty little babies.

Im not sure what Tom uses, but the best vermiculite out there is the coarse glitter grade stuff from big apple herp. I'm telling you it works great. Its not cheap though.

I got another clutch from that male female pairing. i dont know my chances on getting another hypo trans leathers though.
I do have other crosses i have posted 4 of my crosses in this thread. The second female i pictured, (hypo trans) she layed two clutches of 29 eggs in both clutches. It was the same male double het that bred to the hypo het trans. So i will have many many more nice high end dragons. not to mention the red hypo trans leather to two different red leather females! But i do have many more crosses i have not posted. I cant post all my goods in one thread, or at one shot.
For the last three years i have been using eco-earth. It has been working. before that i was using vermiculite. You have to get the mix right (water to dirt.) once you got that its all down hill from there.
Actually you will see the hypo trans leather in the classified section when it's ready. Why keep the babies when i got the breeders!:thumbsup:
