In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Our leachie girl has a clutch each year, last two years she laid 2 infertile eggs (we don't have a male), however this year she had 3! Has anyone seen this before?

I found an article online about a crested that had 3 eggs once (http://www.bcssecretreptiles.com/crested/3-egg-laying-crested-gecko/) but that is all I have found.

Thought this was really interesting! I wonder if she will ever do it again.

Do you still incubate in case of possible parthenogenesis?

I never had this species, but I have had some gecko species in the past that were layers of two-egg clutches that ever so rarely would lay one or three instead. Three being much less common than one for them.

no, they are not fertile (they candle solid yellow), we incubated the first batch just in case but nothing. :)

We moved from CA to UT and overnight in her transport tub, this little stinker laid 2 more eggs.
*sigh*

yeah, too bad they are so expensive plus you have to hope the pair bonds. Maybe someday.
:)

My gargoyle once laid three eggs, all of which hatched. Two of the babies were smaller than is normal, but they survived, and had evened out in size by six months.

Still wants a boyfriend....

I know I have no vote, but please give it a shot. Not like there are too many leachies in the world, so having a good try at making more is a good-ish thing. Since her body will be drawing the resources for the process regardless of whether you mate her or not, this would let the strain (protein, mineral, and fatty acid diversion) count for something instead of being wasted. Every healthy hatchling is a victory.

Apparently a double clutch year - 2 more eggs found last night. *sigh*

Yeah, we've talked about getting another, it's just not something planned for, we just wanted the one leachie. At least we know she's healthy enough to reproduce I guess.

Just wish she would stop using those resources for eggs and grow bigger. :)

6 total for this year.
Feeding her so she will get bigger and all she does is lay eggs instead XD
