    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

:wavey: Our GT leachie Norbert is finally getting more and more comfortable with us! He used to not eat until he was alone and the room was super dark, but now he will gladly run down and grab the pinkie after we put it in his cage in the evening.

This time we wondered if he would grab it from tongs, but we don't have any so Rich just held the bowl. :thumbsup:

interesting video , so how often do you feed pinkies ? Also what's the health benefits they get from pinkies ? Thanks :)

Leachies are on the more carnivorous end for Rhacs, and enjoy a meaty treat now and again. In the wild they eat smaller lizards and whatnot, so a pinkie is a good substitute meal--high in protein and calcium. When I purchased this gecko from the breeder (Carrie from Gecko Greatness) she said to offer him a pinkie once a month or so. We sometimes spoil him and do 2 a month.

But according to this, from Rhacodactylus: The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care:
... When available during breeding season, May through October, giant geckos are offered pink fuzzy mice of the appropriate size once every 2 weeks. In general, geckos offered mice tend to grow larger than those not fed mice. Some breeders feed their subadult to adult GT geckos only twice a week (pink fuzzy once/wk and CGD once/wk).

So maybe we aren't spoiling him so much, but there ya go. :)

How did you get him started on pinkies?

We have a juvenile Nuu Ana that doesn't show any interest in dusted crickets or Blaptica dubia roches? Just curious how you got him started so maybe we could try it!

He was already feeding on them when we purchased him. :/

But, we use a deep corner bowl to put the fuzzy in (so it can't climb out) and originally we would have to leave it in his cage all night for him to eat it. He didn't actually eat the first couple because it took him a bit settle in.

I guess I would just continue to offer food items and hope for the best?! The first one he ate was a particularly squeaky and squirmy baby, so maybe wiggling with some tongs will help? Best of luck to you!
