Let me refresh your memory. The initial $2000 that you sent to Kalam
was used to purchase Amiblobes. The Mafanas did not arrive until the
end of April. If you go back to the e-mails that I posted, it should get
clearer for you. You paid Kalam $3,100 for your share of the Mafanas.
You are correct a grand total of 10 were shipped here, and that included
the replacement male that Kalam sent. Nine were paid for. It really does
not matter, since you have recieved your initial investment back. I however
am stuck with the bottom of the barrel. How in the hell do you come
up with a $300 figure for the up keep of the adult chameleons. You need
to talk with Tony, since we have company records. My company Legend
Labs paid for the crickets,etc. Please take this issue to a attorney, and
I will be most happy to provide documentation, including a reciept from
Kalam for my purchase of the Mafanas. I am DONE with you.

Lets see ...... your own exact words in the earlier thread about owning no Marfana'a (Nosy Mitsio's) was really a mis-truth, as it was part of a conspiracy, even though your words then match with what Shelley is claiming now .... hmmmmmm ? But you're telling the truth now, and Shelley is really the liar ...... hmmmmmm ? So you get Shelley's animals for a length of time, and some are now returned to her, and she should thank you for aging them for her ......... hmmmmmm ? And of course, rights to all offspring are yours (98%) because even though they were her animals, you fed them and housed them. So the upside for Shelley in this deal is that she gets her chameleons aged for free !!!!!! And she gets to set up a legal defense fund too !!! How wonderful !!!!!! Just curious Lane, but have you ever loaned your chameleons out so that others could age them for at no cost to you ????? And if they come back a few clutches spent, then we all know that the females are now more robust, and "proven" too !!!!!! Where do I sign up !!!! And swim with belugas too !!!!! And eat $3000 worth of food !!! Was it low carb ???? !!!!!
Shelley, its not much consolation, but I can probably make you a real good deal on some sub-adult unrelated Mitsio's real soon. For a lot less than "the dark side" wanted to charge too. We have lots here. I won't bill you later for crickets fed earlier, or "prove' them in advance a few times for you, or be an "Indian giver". Seems you really got the shaft from someone that you trusted. As is typical with all of her posts, Lane lets the mud fly with reckless abandon. Even though we didn't need to hear about it, the belugas sounded like fun! And I believe your account of the restaurants, intent to pay, and the hospitality then shown by Lane, but since taken back with a vengeance. You are clearly owed something, but not likely to ever see it. Good luck in all future ventures.

It was sent as an up front good faith down payment to Kalaam to show him my seriousness in buying the Mafanas, and was supposed to insure 1st pick when the shipment came in. Ok Lane, let's say you paid $1000 for some of the Mitsios. Am I right so far? Then that means that you paid for 22% of the Mitsios which we can round up to 25%. Then that would mean that Shelly owes you 25% of the eggs and/or profit but she said 50/50. This would mean the deal is more than fair even IF you did spend some money on the Mitsios. However this would make you a stinking liar as seen in the previous thread of the BOI. So we still can't believe what you said because you are a liar and you will lie to get your way and hide the truth (obviously), right? We are back to square one then. How can Shelly trust that you will ship her the Mitsio eggs? How about you buying her out and keep your dirty Mitsios that way? Jim already offered some Mitsios to Shelly, and God knows ours are pretty big and fat and almost ready to go out the door as you saw in Matt's gallery post, so why not buy Shelly out and call it quits so that you and Johnny do not have to post the "stolen Mafanas" link.

Lane, you are scientist, right? You know about experiments and stuff, you had a great "green thumb" with seahorses (one of Earth's hardest creatures to keep) and you always knew how to keep your chameleon room almost sterile. How do you explain the emergence of Candida in your collection? A weird yeast that affects the respiratory system of lizards kept in too humid and unsanitary conditions for the most part, was present in the culture of your chameleon (Bad Ass) at the time you were selling your whole collection. Why do you cast stones at Shelly for having a Pseudomonas outbreak when you had a disease that was twice as bad? Get real Lane and come out with the truth. What is the deal and proof on your end with the Mitsios and what is the deal and BS about TS? Explain it or continue to beat around the bush and telling Johnny to stay quiet so that he can be protected in the quiet room.

First, in order to have copyright infringement, the work must have been copyrighted. Is the photograph copyrighted? Who took the picture? Who did the animal belong to when the picture was taken? Who owned the animal when the other person posted the picture?

Second, Shelly, you have a good case if you went to Court. Come on Lane, you cannot expect anyone to believe that Shelly put up most of the money and would only get 25%. Did Lane tell Shelly she was going to "pay" someone money? If I were mediating the case, I would suggest that you guys just split the eggs right now.

In no way am I giving legal advice.

Lastly, how come chameleon people are the only people to name their herps? Scary...

There are many following this thread who know how the "front money, first pick" thing works with importers, and Shelley's accounting of how much money was sent when seems completely plausible, if not highly likely. You also went out of your way to slam her husbandry and hygiene, when your own difficulties with harmful pathogens in your collection was well known. A bit ironic since you had such high paid help to maintain things, eh! Seems the network was forming to bring your stolen goods to market as well, although I think that any of your agents were a part of your stealing from Shelley, basically cutting her out of a breeding deal in which she had invested $5100.

For those new unfamiliar with some of the entities here, a search in this forum of Lane and her "Legendcham" posts will show someone who never missed an opportuntiy to attack the reputation of others, often crying "conspiracy" (hence the black helicopters), and was very loose with the facts. While a very long read, she now stands accused by an ex-close associate of ripping off $5100 value in a shared panther chameleon breeding arrangement, and the evidence against her is solid.

Shelley, while I would hope that you would have the time and resources to take Lane to court, all involved know that is a difficult thing to do. On the upside, Lane's own words in this thread will be forever here, to be resurrected at the touch of a button, if and when she ever tries to involve herself in the business, or have one of her slaves do it for her. Thanks for the feedback on the belugas, and we are always open to trades, breeding arrangements, etc.

To those who have gladly co-signed their name to joint posts with Lane in the past, ........ well, I doubt her name will appear with yours again !

Lane, you brought all this down upon yourself. It was probably the ancient Greeks who first coined the phrase, but we now know it as "What goes around, comes around". Enjoy !

In my last post, there is a typo. Specifically, it should read that ..... "the agents did not know of any attemp ...." by Lane to steal from Shelley. Perhaps a Freudian slip !! That said, I am sure that all who have linked their name to you Lane, in the past, or seemed involved in your "Marfana (Nosy Mitsio)" breeding program, now thank you for tainting any juveniles they hope to bring to market. Maybe they can add a tag to their ads saying something like "possible stolen goods, subject to confiscation", etc. How about an encore, like maybe validating the Andapa bloodlines? What a can of worms that is, huh?

Hopefully you guys iron this crap out, its obviously a legitimate issue here on the BOI, but from what I've seen this drama and outright "war" within the chameleon trade is just plain ridiculous. This hobby is supposed to be fun.... Keep it that way guys!

The constant backstabbing and feirce competition only shows the people one very important thing.... Who NOT to buy from. Since we decided to take on numerous chameleon projects in recent months we've spoken with many people about this subject, and its been a VERY popular subject latley among many. I cannot count how many people refuse to deal with some of you chameleon breeders because of your actions, statements, and marketing tactics. Its insane. And trust me, its no exaggeration. I was simply shocked to hear some of the things i've heard about you guys, even people i respect and have dealt with in the past. I just hope things change in the future, the way it is looking its just going to get worse. Any way you slice it, actions like these are obviously bad for business. People need to put thier anger and hostility aside sometimes and realize thier actions may cost them more than an upset customer or two. Eventually, it'll be your business.

As for the situation at hand, well........ Seems that Lane is simply trying to pull a fast one. From the begining it was quite apparent. the best part about all of this, most of these people doing the harassing and such get it in the end. And it's usually brought on themselves by thier own direct actions, which makes it so much more amusing.

Enjoy, hopefully many will learn from fews mistakes.

Last night I remembered that I had made one credit card payment to Kalaam. I drug out all my old statements and there is a payment sent to him on 5/4/04 for $1650. I had also ordered from both Extreme & Zoological both of who include itemized statements with their shipments, but Aline Reptiles does not. So, I forgot about some of the animals coming from him. I believe I received 2 ambanja females and 2 Ambilobe males, from Aline Reptiles. One of the males was damaged in shipment so I sent him back and Kalaam sent me a refund. With that payment of 5/4/04 on my master card, and the two cashiers checks that makes a total of $6,800 of MY money sent to Kalaam (Aline Reptiles) for the Mafanas, and the ambanjas and Ambilobes. I clearly remember Lane considering buying 1.1 of the Mafanas, but at the last minute she changed her mind. I told her it didn’t matter I would pay for all of them. Lane purchased other chams from Kalaam that I paid for from her funds that were in my possession. I sent $1038 on 4/28 and $1000 of 4/12. She also purchased a blue bar from Kalam with a Cashiers check I sent in her behalf 2/17/04. I have all of the customer statements for the sales that I processed for her last year, and all records of the exact dispersal of her money. Lane also has these records, because I sent a copy of every single invoice with either a payment, or a copy of payments made at her direction to other people. So, if she gets Kalaam to send her a receipt for 1.1 Mafanas, then he is doing so based on what she tells him. Kalaam has no way of knowing, for sure, what money is from who because all the payments were made through me, and no itemized invoices were ever sent to me.

On the matter of sending a gravid female to David, that wasn’t generosity on her part, the female already laid a clutch of eggs for her. That female double-clutched at David’s.

On the phone Lane and I discussed what to do about the female with tumors that is being kept at her house. She had told me the female was sick, and beyond not well enough to breed anymore. Lane felt she should keep her to live out the rest of her life in comfort. I was grateful for that, but told her that if it becomes a problem and Lane needs to get rid of her then to ship her to me to spend her last days here. Or if the female became so bad she needed to be euthanized to let me know and I would pay the vet bill.

John, don't get your panties in a knot over this but no I was never upset about not getting one of the Picassos babies from Lane. Lane had told Shelly that there was only two that survived and that ours might die. Besides, I figured that it would anyways. Lane doesn't have very good luck with her survival of the babies. I don't think this should surprise anyone. If I was a panther baby at Lanes house I would want to die too.

Neon Man was a different issue, duuuu. Yes, it is true that I did have a conversation with you early last year to my regret and I am still having to was out all of your conceitedness out of my hair. As with most conversations a lot of things are brought up and talked about by each party. I think that is the way it is suppose to work. I didn't even want to call you but Shelly thought that it would be a good business move for me. I have not a clue as to why she thought this because you are the furthest thing to me of being useful. She kept asking if I had called you yet. Didn't you get it. I was just blowing smoke up your dress to get the conversation rolling. I did tell you that I was excited about getting one or two of the Neon Man babies but you told me that you are suppose to get all three. How was this possible? When Lane had already promised Shelly way before that she was going to be getting two of these babies if all three of them survived. Shelly was going to resell them to me for a 50/50 breeding and Lane knew of this. You sent Lane payment upfront for the two that survived sometime after I talked with you. So, when the time came for Lane to sell Shelly her half of the Neon Man babies Lane suddenly forgot and shipped them to you. Lane told Shelly that you had already sent money for both babies and that she felt at a loss that she had to take it, and just didn't know what to do - Oh My! For me it was never for the sake of the bloodline only for the colors of the Ambilobe to add to my own bloodlines. I could care less about the name of the panther or who's the sire. A quote from you to Matt on the BOI "I did buy out lines, I did buy out breeders, so what. The main point is "I" do it, "I" don't ride coat tails." However, in our phone conversation you did ask me if I would be interested in doing some CH trades with you. I told Shelly that I would never even give it a thought because some of your ideas where just too strange for me. The only other time I have had dealings with you have been with your silkworms and that was because they came in dead until you corrected the problem you were having with them. Other than this I have not had any other contact with you other than to see if you ever have any large silkworms in - that's it.

I am very glad that I did not get any Neon Man off-spring after seeing the most recent picture of him on King Snake photo gallery. I had just woke up and looking at the gallery when I saw that picture. I thought that I was going to pee on myself from the laughter of what ChamLuv wrote. Of course you pulled the picture as soon as possible. Just not fast enough. So sad to see such a most interesting and desirable Ambilobe color morph, or I guess I should say a phase now, turn out to become the ugliest Ambilobe color morph I have seen to date. Are you sure that this is Neon Man? Maybe you accidentally got him mixed up with another of your panthers. "Once again I don't mean anything negative by this, just want to make sure lines have not been crossed."

Yikes! You need to take this male to the vet as soon as you can. Look at the size of that tumor on his chest! This male looks like he is in pretty bad shape. I would say that the arguement of this male being a solid morph panther is over since he is not solidly colored. Rating: 1/5

This male has a ton of color for being a young male. He does not look to be pure though. I saw a picture on another forum called Fauna Classifieds in the chameleon forum of an Ambilobe/Ambanja cross who looks liek ths spitting image of this male. Here is the link http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53088. I have a feeling that this male might be crossed to but he is small so maybe he could change a bit but he does look like the clone or a brother to that hybrid on the other site. Yes it's true that I have been at times a little upset over all of the babies that never made it this way for good reasons. John, please don't bloat yourself up on pride with this statement. I was not upset with you I was upset with Lane of course. However, not so much that I would demand Shelly that she can't have anything to do with Lane or I will not be her friend anymore, or to presume sole ownership of her stock at my panther breeding facility. This would be stealing. If my friendship with Shelly means or has meant anything to me then I at least owe her the benefit of getting her fair share out of what she has put in of a 50/50 partnership. In the same situation with the Mafanas I wouldn't even allow Shelly to only take a 75/25 or a 1% to 2% based on the level of anger I felt toward her, because this would get the better of my conscious and again I would feel that I was stealing. If all it took was the TS situation for Lane to go psycho then this makes her a very scary friend to be around with.

John, you also sent me an e-mail 12/18/04 showing me your Andapa X Sambava cross but you left out the most current picture. What I saw could have been any locale of baby panther, so it did not prove a thing to me at that time. I know that our three month old Andapa crosses had grown enough by October to December that you could see the beginnings of color and the formation of bars of the male. Where is the most current picture of your cross? Do you even have one of these crosses? As far as that goes with Lanes shipping mix up you might of received our One Eye Ambilobe and we received your Andapa cross. Would you had even told us about it if it happened? Lane had told Shelly that she had spoke with others who had bought the same Andapa crosses but Lane never showed us a picture for comparison to TS or even offered. At this point I wanted cold hard facts since Lane had seen pictures of TS at that time on King Snake gallery but would not say for certain if he was a cross or a pure Ambilobe. I just went by what was shipped to me by the breeder (Lane) and what Lane told to Shelly. I wanted a Ambilobe and again could care less what his bloodlines name was. Shelly paid for a Ambilobe not for another cross. Besides, you were the one who contacted Shelly with your "offer" that started out $150 then you raised it to $200 for up keep of the animal while in your care. The One Eye baby was not that special. You also tacked onto this that if we agreed to buying this baby from you that we could never post or mention TS ever again.

John, if it was such a big deal for you to see that we received a One Eye Ambilobe baby then why didn't you offer it to Lane? Lane then could of shipped out the One Eye that Shelly originally paid for in the first place. After all, it is Lane's mess to correct not yours. As you have put it on this BOI "once again not my problem Lane choose to come to me". I suppose that Lane did the gathering of the animals for shipping and boxing of the animals. Didn't you Lane? Or was some other hired hand of yours to blame that screwed us out of getting a cross at Ambilobe prices. Instead Lane offered a full refund and one of her , at that time, potential crossed Rembrandt Ambilobe babies. Again, Lane why didn't you just send the money to John and then had John send the One Eye to us? This would of scored big brownie points for a big time "ESTABLISHED BREEDER" like yourself. After all isn't customer service very important to a "ESTABLISHED BREEDER" like yourself? Or do you only screw your friends as you have done with Shelly?

As for the what's my name the Mafana game. Lane your nuts and John has slowly become your keeper. Shelly has every right to call her animals whatever she wants to. You co-own the eggs not the animals so no discussion was needed from Shelly on this matter. It was Johns responsibility to contact Shelly to find out if Shelly had named her Mafana male. I was the one that told Shelly about Johns website. I had noticed it three days before Shelly ever contact Lane about it. John wasn't working on his website on the Mafana page the day he says he was. What are the odds that John was working on that page at 10:00 pm central time on the same day that I discovered it and Shelly sends word of it to Lane the following day? John, it is true that you were working on that Mafana page but it was two days after I discovered it and only after you were alerted by Lane that Shelly found out what you were up to. Besides, you say you needed a name for the picture to show the separation of CB bloodlines from the CH bloodlines. Why the rush to Name a animal you don't even own? Are not the CH mafana eggs the first ones that are hatching at this time? You know what they say about to assume? Only in this incident it's all on you.

Murphy the Turquoise panther? What does this have to do with Shelly's and Lane's dealings? John, Murphy was also offered to me as well and Shelly told me that she would do a 75/25 too. Only because Shelly felt that Murphy was not going to be able to make it pass one or two breeding at best. Shelly felt that it would be fair if I had the larger of the percent because I would be the one who would eventually be caring for a ill panther. Before, I could take her up on the offer Murphy became seriously ill. Shelly came back from Texas heart broken when she discovered that Murphy had worsen and she had to break the news to me.

Lane, what does my Ambanja have anything to do with you breaking off all ties with Shelly over TS so you can steal Shelly's Mafana eggs? The e-mail has already been placed where you have already acknowledge TS as either being one of your crosses or a One Eye Ambilobe. I also think that you are getting you facts mixed up. I have a Blue Bar Ambanja male and female that I bought from the Lizard King off of King Snake. He claimed that he bought his Ambanja sire from Natural State. I never said that it was a Ambilobe that turned into a Ambanja. However, I do have a picture and a copy of and ad of your Franco Sambava that you thought was a Nosy Be cross and later you said that it is a Sambava. It is true though. I did get 1.1 blue bar Ambanja babies at two months old and the male tuned into more of a red bar. Hell, I hear a lot of stories about Ambanjas doing that. So what's the big deal? Look at you. You have crosses that look like Ambilobe, Andapa, Sambava, Tamatave all in the same animal. Common Lane tell us what you have cooking back there. Aren't you the one that is adamant about not doing crosses in the first place? So why did ya start now? See what mess you get yourself into when you go against your own principals. Andapas mixing with Sambavas indeed! What is this world coming to?

But just for the record, Mr. Lucas, I do not delete posts that other people place on this site. If you have an issue with what someone else has posted here, please settle it in court between yourself and the person posting said photos, and I will delete them after seeing a court order to do so. It's kinda hard to make a really good short version of this as it cover almost all of 2004 but I'll give it a shot.

Last year Shelly and Lane made a verbal agreement to co-own eggs/babies from a new and rare panther chameleon called Mafanas that was coming in to the US. The deal was that Shelly would spend the over $5000.00 to buy the breeders and Lane would breed and collect the eggs and split the babies 50/50.

At about the same time the Mafanas came in Shelly and I decided to start a business partnership of our own because with the exception of the Mafanas Lane and Shelly were not partners.

Lane and Shelly were the best of friends at that time too. However, some other business dealings between Shelly and Lane started to go sour because of John and his website. John was suppose to just use a picture of Shelly's Mafana to sell Lane's Mafana babies but he decided to give the picture his own name and made it look like he was the breeder of the Mafana babies. Shelly was upset because John never asked her about naming her Mafana male or even if Shelly had already named it. Shelly was also very upset that John was advertising the babies as though they were a result of his breeding efforts.

Lane was not pleased with Shelly for getting upset with John.

Also, Shelly bought a baby Ambilobe from Lane that turned out to not be a Ambilobe. Because we were told it was a Ambilobe we posted pictures of it and this made John mad because he told us it was not a Ambilobe. Lane calmed him down and everything was cool. At that time we still were not told that it was not a Ambilobe and so I posted some more pictures of it. This time Lane ordered us to take the picture down. I didn't feel that this was right so I left up the pictures and Lane went nuts.

Lane broke all ties with Shelly and this meant that Lane was not going to honor he agreement with Shelly. So, Shelly would not be receiving her 50% of the off-spring. Then Lane came back and told Shelly that because of the heartbreak that was caused to her reputation that Shelly could only receive 1% to 2% of the baby Mafanas from each clutch.

As for an copyright concerns in this forum, there's actually a good thread on-going about stolen care sheets, etc, that contains some good points. The Common Law Copyright statutes would not protect someone's use of the pictures of others in this forum provided that it was not for commercial purposes, with a few strings attached. That this particular thread mentions animals or offspring relevent to the animals pictured, and that the acknowledged owner of the pictures was both mentioned and participated in the thread, makes it all fair game. That said, I certainly sympathize with John, as Lane is the one stinking up the joint here. If I had any associations with her, I would be none too happy about it now. And if I had chosen this thread to sing her praises ............. bad move !! Hopefully Lane will have a vision or something, realize her obligation to Shelley, and make it all right. Of course, I'm not holding my breath.

You may have already consulted a local attorney to get a better feel for where you stand. I have had to pursue long-distance cases in the past similar to how you've been ripped off by Lane at Legendcham, and as you know, have legal advice very close at hand. You definitely have a case. You would have to likely shell out something on the order of $750 to get a Texas attorney on retainer, talk to you for 30 minutes, look at this thread (its loaded with good stuff, and is an excellent roadmap by which the attorney can acquaint him or herself with the issue), and do a few hours worth of work for you, to include gathering all of your supporting evidence. Fortunately, the goat in all of this has provided excellent quotes that she would have to explain in court. Your claim would also likely allow the case to be aimed straight for district court (or whatever they call it at that level in Texas), and not the small claims stuff. A very good legal mind looked at this, and advised that once Lane took your complaint to a bonafide attorney of her own, he or she would review all of this and advise her that her position is extremely weak, and that the rational thing to do would be to just settle up. Of course, with all of the earlier carrying on in this thread, who's expecting "rational" at this point? In any event, $200 or less spent back home by you on a local attorney might be money well spent, and then decide on the jump to a Texas attorney. There's still the hope that Lane will contact you outside this thread, fix things up, and get on with business.

Jim, I have already consulted with 2 attorneys in Montana and they both said the same thing. You are correct in that I would have to hire a Texas attorney because that is where the eggs & babies are. In the past Lane has gloated that she could threaten someone with a lawsuit, knowing they would have to come to Texas to defend themselves, and the person in particular she was referring to couldn't afford it, making it an automatic win for her.

A few months ago Lane told me she had 200 Mafana eggs. Even more have been laid. I figure that even if you allowewd for half of the eggs and/or babies to die she stands to make around $35,000 on 100 babies. Trust me, I have DEFINITELY given serious consideration to fighting her. The only thing that stops me is the fact that my court victory will be a hollow one. There is no way to say how many eggs actually hatched, how many babies survived, how many did John actually sell for her, or were traded off, or sent to shows, leaving no paper trail. And the babies will be coming available periodically throughout the next year. To reap the benefits of a court victory would require honesty on Lanes part for the distribution of the babies as they became sellable. Lane has shown me a number of times how ruthless she is (on a business level) and is not above lying for profit. I'm definitely open to suggestions around this problem.

Since talking to Ivan I have learned how ruthless she is on a personal level. Ivan told me things Lane said about me that could have only come from her. That proves Ivan is NOT a lier, and that Lane goes back & forth between her "friends" to keep hatred and distrust stirred up. Now I know that not only is Lane a ruthless business woman, she is also a backstabbing friend, and has been all along.

I used to think that Matt was a little harsh on the little kid considering that he was and is a puppet of Lane's but after doing some more searching and reading right here on the BOI I realized that Matt might have not been hard enough on him.

Johhny, you have the audacity to go crying to Webslave so that he can remove the pics of your animals that David posted here. How dare you ask for something like that? Why do I say so? Well, you might remember that you, Lane and 2 others started a little BS thread stating how unethical we were by doing our advertising. During that thread you used and posted, without my permission, the pics and whole ads that I had posted on the classifieds and the picture gallery of kingsnake.com. The pics and ads are still up and posted on that thread. If we are to believe you, and say that David is not allowed to use your pics, then that means that you are guilty of doing the exact same thing to me. I did not cry to webslave so he could remove the pics, I simply accepted that you were using your "horrible evidence" in my ads. This is being a big hypocrite because it is ok for you to post and use other people's pics when it is you attacking but when they are using your pics to attack you, all of a sudden in becomes unacceptable? Give me a break.

Grow up and stop hiding behind others like Lane. This thread is about Lane so I might even open a new one on you alone just to state all this and post all the new stuff we have exposed here about you and your "honest" practices.
Don't forget the ads from now on should read:
