Thanks guys! This is one of those boys that is certainly old enough and big enough, but he took his time learning what to do. Hopefully he won't forget!!! :D

Thanks everyone!! Felt like I jinxed myself last year, talking too much about what was coming up...and then fell short. This year...I'm just gonna throw a bunch of "stuff" at the wall and we'll see what sticks! :D

Not sure if that is the best breeding plan... ball's usualy don't stick to the wall......... They bounce....

:D

I can't believe that he actually got the job done that quickly, but I THINK this is her post-ov shed (I'll take more pics after she sheds, to show how bright she really is). Last season she gave me 9 eggs at just under 1800 grams. Today she was just a hair under 2500 grams soooo....we'll see!!

I had wanted my hypo mojo to breed her, but she was bred by a mojo last season and I would be too afraid that she retained sperm to guarantee the babies were hets. But that's ok. If she'll give me a couple of lemonblasts that are as bright as the 2 pastaves that she gave me last season, I'll be very happy!! :yesnod:

Can balls retain sperm for that long? I would be surprised if it was still viable. But I don't know much about it.

It's kind of nice when things are quick and to the point....I put a male in with a female one evening, and removed him the next afternoon (the first time I saw them separated); a couple weeks later she looked like she was ovulating, then she went into a shed. Time will tell if it was my imagination, lol.

Best of luck on the blasts!!

While I don't think it's very common at all, it is a possibility (at least from what I understand). And since I'm going to put my name on the line for any hets that I produce, I'm not willing to take any chances. As far as how long it's viable, I'm really not sure, but I have heard of a couple of rare cases (from well-known breeders) that had boas produce offspring with genes that were bred to the dam TWO YEARS prior. I haven't seen "proof" of it--certainly never happened to me--but again, I just don't want to take the chance.

I sure hope that we're both right!! I'm so used to pairings that last for monthS and STILL take another month or MORE before I get an ovulation! :ack2:

Thanks everyone!!

Here are a couple more pics, as promised. She still wants to eat so...I don't know?? Even after leaving me a BIG present, she still looks gravid so I'm still hoping!! 30 days from yesterday will be March 26th so we'll see what happens by then (hoping for 10+ eggs this year). :dgrin:

I would keep throwing him in there just to make sure. If she is gravid she shouldnt let him go for a lock and if not and she hasnt ovulated yet u can keep from missing ur chance, JMO tho!

Best of luck to u Matt!

She does look likes shes getting big Matt, maybe that was her pre-ov shed and thats why she still want to eat. My ovs usually come about 25-35 days after shed, good luck I hope you get a lot of Lemon Blast's. You can throw in the male if you want its not going to hurt anything but in my opinion she looks "done" and you will be getting a clutch from her.

Thanks Guys! I've thought about cycling him back through with her. As Bob mentioned, it can't hurt. I had at least 2 of last season's clutches laid while the male was still in because I wasn't sure and left him, just to make sure that he got the job done. Does make me second-guess her since she took a rat yesterday (a smaller than she wanted, just in case!!).
