Lori, I noticed that you mentioned getting a lawyer involved to seek compensation. I'm hoping you don't spend too much money on that because I'm thinking that your odds in a court of law aren't going to be very great. Because you and Rachel would basically be in a situation where it is your word against her's the judge would be forced to resort to using a formal contract to help decide. But since you have no contract then he will have no basis for a judgement and will likely dismiss the case. Weirdly enough, if you DID have a contract and there was a misunderstanding regarding the split or the contract was not explicit enough regarding the split the judge would have the opportunity to decide in your favor by using de facto standards currently enjoyed by the herp community. The contract would merely be a legal framework to establish that there was an intent to split. The split could then be assumed to have been conducted according to known standards whether or not the exact percentage was in the contract.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear and maybe with some luck I could be proven wrong by a lawyer that is really, really good.
I do thankyou however for bringing to light this very nasty individual so that others can be alerted before doing any deals with her. Eventually, the light will cause her to shrivel up or hide under a rock and she will disappear from view thereby causing less damage to the herp community.

Situations like this are a perfect example of why it is best to have things like breeding loans contracted on paper and witnessed by at least one other party. No matter how friendly you are with someone. It protects you and them if you have the agreement in writing. Plus a LOT more things that has not been brought out yet and other things that are coming in slowly about  the whole fiasco.

The best bet is for Rachel to come clean first, before it is all brought before the judge.

Just my two cents worth.  Standard breeding loan on herps is 50-50.  The breeder (cartaker/breeder of the pair) gets first pick of the litter, simple as that.  The litter is then split in half, or the profits from the sale.  Seems simple enough, and pretty standard for decades.

Well I am sure "MOST" of you dont know who i am but I have something to say here....


As far as Lori is concerned here I would have to beleive her.

THis is a woman whom when my son was seriousll injured called me up out of nowhere on my cell phone, and offered me everything she and her forrum members had to offer a father in need. She had her forrum members offering me a place to stay in the state of Florida when I was there from California. Why would anyone, who would offer a perfect stranger, money, food, and a roof over thier heads for 10 days, even consider attempting to lie about a deal made with a friend? Just doesnt add up at all to me.

Now granted I do not know Racheal at all or ever care to know her from what i am reading. But i have to say that I have sat back and read everything that is here in this topic. I dont believe anything she has said. She is abotu the most couble talking, self condricting person i have had to read anything from. So she will now be added to my NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH list. It seems like its growing on a daily basis.

As far as breeding loans go and deals about them is concerned...

I have participated in several breeding projects with other people in my vast 20+ years of herping. Almost every joint venture ends in a 50/50 split of all offspring with the owner of the female taking pick of the clutch. I have also had projects where I have had 60/40 split because of the father being the more sellable of the two. this was while breeding Burm x retics aka Borneo Bat Eaters.

One final thing I would like to comment on. This guy from Mice On Ice has got to be the most ignorant, self absorbed, assinine, moronic, jackass I have ever seen here or anywhere else for that.
Like someone might want to purchase frozen rodents from you after the way you act on here. Oh please oh please dont bann or blacklist Lori. BAWAHAHA what a joke you are. Lori if you need frozen Rodents let me know. I too have very close friends in the rodent business and I am sure they will be happy to take your money if needbe so your not to deal with this person again. Also making threats of blacklisting some one is illegal and punishable by law in the way of penalties and inprisonment. It is called terroristic threats. So please keep up your great work there M.O.I. Im sure your business will prosper after people have seen the way the owner of the company they do business with acts and how he attempts to scare women by the way of threats. I bet it took you becoming a very big man to try and bully around a lady. Your a real class act and I wouldnt do business with you if you were the ONLY person selling rodents online or offline.

NOPE Rachel did NOT come through and work anything out at all..NOT did she attempt to work things out in any form whatsoever after receiving a certified letter even from me requesting adequate compensation for what she stole from me in the clutch sired by my male. here's the certified receipt from the letter [ btw it was mailed both certified and regular USPS to her]

The letter were mailed in October I believe it was. Still nothing from her in any form of contact to make any attempt to correct what she has done. HECK! I can't be that hard to find if Jeff Ronne was able to find my home phone # like he did recently..lmao.
I had family emergency to deal with in November and had to go to Florida for a few weeks back then. So that put off dealing with Rachel for awhile. Then with the holidays and recently all the bs associated with our site domain name being taken out from under us on www.redtailboa.net [ I'm a lead admin over there]...Haven't had the time to deal with Rachel. I have an atty. on it and also intent to proceed against Rachel in regards to this matter, even if it means through legal channels [ which is what it looks like she prefers to be done]. NP....Can do that route as she seems to prefer
Note : I offered to accept the wholesale price she sold my share of the babies that were clutched for [without my knowledge or consent to do such] in the letter sent to her as compensation from her. I also informed her that should I need to take it any further than an amicable agreed upon compensation such as this, then I would NOT be looking to accept the wholesale pricing she sold at without my knowledge or consent and would seek full compensation via the courts. She obviously has made her decision where she intends to go with the matter. NP....I'll "accomodate" her "wishes" for such. My intentions are to have the atty. file within the courts over the next few weeks at this point in this matter.

Think Rachel posted ol somewhere [ neoslither possibly] that she needed the funds for the reptile rescue/rehab that she does. Hmmm.. I KNOW that reptile rescue/rehab costs quite a bit...I also do rescue/rehab with reptiles here..BUT I NEVER would think to steal from others to fund it at all. IF ya can't afford to do it without stealing from others, then simply just do NOT do rescue/rehab is all. Those of us who can do the rescue/rehab on an honest level all across the board will continue to do such....even if it means picking up where others can't afford to do it any further.

NP Frank.. I have had the same done for me when needed also by other herpers. This past November in fact..had to catch a flight out on an hours notice...needed a ride from the airport to the hospital [ an hour away I think it was even], and then to a hotel to grab my father's car. I didn't get into Florida till like midnite [ an hour late of course..dang airlines !] and still had a ride waiting for me. I had offers for a ride within minutes of posting it was needed on our site and contact #'s too in the Florida area in case I needed any further assistance while down there.
I'd do the same for anyone needing such coming into the Boston or Rhode Island area also.

As for MOI.. he can KMA!! I breed my own feeders here.. from mice & rats on up through rabbits for my reptiles. He'd have a hell of a time trying to knock out my source. He'd have to convince my breeders that they no longer want to breed....BAWAHAHA He couldn't even touch my wholesale source for new breeders to "lighten" my breeders gene pool even I doubt. LMAO His threats are idle as far as I am concerned in relation to my supply of prey for my reptiles. Besides.. I have tried MOI prey for my snakes in the past. When my snakes eat, they want a meal, not a freaking snack. When I offer them JUMBO rats, they get just that...JUMBO rats. Last thing I want is a LARGE pissed off, HUNGRY snake AFTER it has eaten. So MOI can keep selling to any customers he can find as far as I'm concerned....I ordered ONCE from him and NEVER would again after what I saw MOI jumbo rats to be....and that was a looong time ago even. So he wasn't even threatening one of his own customers or even someone he could impact with his futile attempts at all
