In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i just thought that it was funny that i have 19 leos and they all have dif personalities. the Patriarch of my gecko family, Tang (where my name here comes from) eats only crickets and won't touch mealies or pinkies.

while one of my other males (Hybino, but still no name and no pic) eats only mealies and won't touch crix. but the first mommy gecko i ever had, Al, is food crazy (so far she has laid 10 eggs for me in 2 years :) ). she will try to grab anything that moves during feeding times including fingers and tails.

meanwhile, Tang and Al's first granddaughter, Sunni, won't really eat anything yet (she just hatched)

and some geckos i know are eating although i never see them doing it. Like my hybino female,Sherbert, and the two females I bought from Albey.

and my beardy, Pogs (if u can figure out where her name comes from ill b impressed, and no not from the little circles with pics on them lol) is on an entirely dif level. she is ravenous all the time. ive seen her eat close to 100 large mealies at once and still have her mouth watering for some crix.

(FYI this pic was taken the first day she was home, all the pebbles have long since been sifted out of her sand in her juvie enclosure) also, my last beardie, T-Rex who died a year ago (at 10 years of age :-( and def the sweetest lizard ive ever had and the one i got closest to) wouldnt touch parlsey or dendelions. But Pogs will eat anything offered to her.
just thought it was funny thinking about how dif they all are and how little credit people give reptiles in terms of having tastes and personalities.

Not sure if food preference, appetite, and intake can be considered or qualifies as "personality"....

Remember, these are reptiles, not animals with complex brain function, emotions, and thought processes....

Cool pics and awesome animals by the way....

haha, believe me i know that those things dont constitute a personality, i work with hundreds of reptiles every week from lizards and snakes, to crocs and turtles. i guess even though it wasnt really clear, with personality i was refering to behavioral patterns and temperment, which i belive does constitute a personality, however primitive. and heck, if people are willing to personify their cars with personalities (of which i am one. i got into an accident on friday and i muct have apologized to my car a million times bc i messed up its face pretty badly), then reptile should sure as hell be attributed with having personalities as well.

I do have to agree with personalities. The realists will tell you reptiles have lower brain function and that they dont have real personalities. I can honestly look at and hold about 5 different leos at the same age weight and maybe even sex and tell that they are each different.

I will agree that the vast majority of reptiles are pinheads and lack much in the brains department. Reptiles are the muscle heads of the natural world. And i am referring in now way to our little "delicate" friends, although everyone here can probably admit that they have a pretty strong bite for their size.

Although if any candidate for "intelligence" in the reptile kingdom i would have to say maybe the Butan (sp?) monitors that were just on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.
Granted this is a from of instinct too, but I'd say thats a pretty advanced instinct lol.

Cool geckos and yes i agree on the differences between individuals.
