    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello Everyone,
I have a leo who is about 2 years old and is about 6-7 inches long. He used to eat crickets all the time. One week I decided to pick up some mealworms to see if he liked them. Well ever since he ate a meal worm he refuses to touch crickets or dried food. I've put crickets in the tank and he won't touch them. I eventually have to take them out after a few days because he won't eat them. I know feeding only meal worms isn't the best thing. His tale is fat and he looks healthy and is active. How can I get his diet back to normal?

Yes its perfectly normal! Leos often change their taste in food like that, I think its purely to frustrate their owners. Just go with it. Mealworms are fine as a staple diet, too. Make sure you gut load his mealworms well, and he'll be just fine.

I gutload them with the wheat germ they come in plus I add some Fluckers high calcium cricket feed along with a carrot or potatoe. I've noticed that there is no expirey date on the Fluckers food. When should it be no longer good to feed?
 
Yeah mealies are fine, alot of mine eat mealies and pinks only, gotloading and dusting are the main things no matter what insect they want to eat.

Im not sure about how long the flukers food is good for, maybe someone else has used it and can help you out with that.
 
Yeah, I looked all over the package and it just says it is perishable and I should keep it in a cool dark place, which I do. No expiry date what so ever.
 
I have no idea what it's made of but if it is all dry goods like grains and things, then it should keep indefinitly as long as it stays dry and does not get it's own worms.
 
I feed my leos mealies exclusively, and they are all healthy and fat! You are doing it right by gutloading them, just make sure you dust them with a calcium supplement. You should be happy, mealies are much easier to deal with than crickets!
The gutload you have should be fine as long as it doesn't get moldy.
