In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I recently just purchased a leopard gecko after getting rid of all my beardies and such... I am just curious on how the set up should be, i have a 10 gallon tank and a 55 gallon, should i just keep him/her in the 55 or 10.. anyways right now i have a water dish + a huge hide rock that fits in the 55, + i just need 2 know what setup i should have

10 gallon, would be 10 gallon repticarpet... a little water dish and i need 2 know what else.

You don't want TOO big of a cage. If I'm not mistaken 1 single adult leo should be fine in a 10 gallon tank. Reptile carpet is ok for leos, but if you want something cheap and easy, paper towels work wonders.

As for aggressiveness, just hold the gecko for like 10 minutes a day. Eventually it will be tame.

I have a female in a 29L. I use paper towels on the bottom. I have a dry hide for her and a moist hide. The moist is made out of a Tupperware container with wet(not soaked just wet)paper towels lining the bottom. I have one water dish and Gatorade cap with calcium. I would say for you to put him in the 10, a 55 would stress him out, having to wander a lot to look for water etc.

The temps need to be around 93-95 degrees on the hot side. They do NOT require UVB lighting. Most people use an under tank heater to heat their tank.

I would use paper towels or repti-carpet. Stay away from loose substrate.

Put a hide spot over the hot spot, a hide spot over the cool spot, and the humid hide can sit somewhere in the middle.

Provide a dish of calcium for the gecko to eat as it pleases.

Fresh water is to be provided daily, fresh food is to be provided every other day for adults. Young geckos can be fed daily. Dusting the insects with a calcium supplement with d3 is necessary to prevent nutritional metabolic bone diseases. Provide as much of a variety as possible, this is most important!
