In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Leopard Het Red Clutch

Your 1,000,000% wrong but no hard feelings I'll actually show you the difference in what a leopard looks like and then the pastel leopard too that's about to come out of the eggs.

Great looking clutch Dustin! I dont know much about the leo gene, but, is it possible that the het reds in question could be just leos or het red leos as well? Seems that there is a ton of variation with leos from what I have seen. There are the way awesome examples of them and then there are the ones which only look slightly different from a normal. The darker looking ones in question almost scream leo to me as well due to their amount of black in their saddles. The gold colored one looks normal to me, but, the first year I hatched het reds I had the hardest time ever in the world determining if they actually were or not and still question if I got it right to this day. The two I just hatched this season no doubt in my mind at all that they are het red, however, het red seems to be a pretty variant morph, so, although I do not see the het red in your animal, who knows? It does have the gold eyes and somewhat of the black back, just not really seeing any squiggles.

Het red pic

Heres some pics of my het reds. They are Woods line. I think looking at several examples of het reds (and leopards) will help you in determining what your young may be.

thank you krystal that helps a ton so the two are definitely het reds and the other orange one is probably normal. Am I missing something here, WOBP is bashing on my morph....it's kind of discouraging considering I've looked up to those guys for a long time in the reptile industry....does the leopard het red look ugly I mean maybe I'm biased since I created it?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking: two het Reds and a normal. :-]

Don't know what the deal is with WOBP; I've never dealt with them and had to go check their webpage to see if I've even visited it before. (Still not sure.)

Even if some people do think the Leo het Red looks ugly, so what? Some people don't like BELs; I think they're the one of the most gorgeous morphs. I don't see why people need to bash just because they don't like how it looks. *sigh*

I wish I was more familiar with how varied Leopards look. From the pics I can find online, the normal Leopards seem to have less chaotic patterns than the one here, while the morph x Leos (such as Pastel Leopards) have really busy patterns. That by itself makes me think you have a Leo het Red...but it would be nice to see if there are any Leos that look like your possible Leo het Red.

Thanks everyone for you inputs, Krystal your picture of the Het Red from Oz helped a lot. These two girls look just like that girl of yours as far as darkness and pattern. The leopard het red is undoubtedly a leopard het red and your right as far as some people aren't going to like certain things so oh well. Haters will be haters. I can't wait until next year to put this guy to a bunch of other morph girls and later on he will go to this super pastel het red girl.

Here's further proof that its undoubtedly a leopard het red. The two genes reacted with each other causing the belly to turn black.

Dustin, this is certainly not the result I would have expected on a cross with a het red. If it is a cross it is so subtle you can hardly tell it for certain. The leopard is so variable which doesn't help either. Here is a picture of one of my clutches this season to show just how variable they can be. I hope you hit it, you should be able to get an idea when comparing to your other leopard hatchlings. A RA leopard should be stunning, good luck on your other leopard stuff this season.

What about the belly craig, do you mind showing a pick of the belly? I have 3 leopards with clearish belly's and then the leopard het red with a black belly. Plus this guy has all the classic het red markers with squiggles around where the alien heads should be.

Both of mine have clear bellies. I have seen that belly before on a leopard but can't remember where. I'm not saying you didn't hit it but I think most people would expect it to be similar to the cinnamon cross. For that matter the green pastel, lori, cinnamon, and het red breedings should yeild pretty similar results.

I guess after all the cool leopard crosses it's tougher to accept such a subtle cross.

LOL yes I understand as I was "expecting" something a little more extreme but I think the potential is still there, who knows what will happen with red axanthic version and I can't even imagine what happens with leopard het red black pastel or cinni. That would be a triple to recon with! Craig those are some smokin leopards too by the way!
