    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So I post this so that no one will have to experience this. I had purchased a female dalmatian crested gecko from Liana Cathoir of SoCal geckos for $400, for Christmas. Over a month ago I requested shipping as we were in weather, since then I have had NO response from her after several messages from me and my husband, through Facebook and PayPal, all while she continuously makes posts. I posted to her wall today asking that she respond, after which she has deleted my post (picture of today's post included) and unfriended me. I have pictures saved of all conversations with her if anyone has questions to the authenticity of this post. Please beware of LIANA CATHOIR OF SOCAL GECKOS. Makes me sick to my stomach, especially since my husband bought it for my XMas present.

Sounds like anbrown (or anbrown's husband) bought a gecko and Liana dropped off the face of the map without shipping... and no communication to the buyer...

Which is surprising to me because I have done business with Liana in the past, a few times, with no problems whatsoever. Hope she will come and shed some light on what is going on.
 
I had sent a link to this thread to Liana on the 12th as she is on my facebook friends list. It was marked as read but no response. Any updates, OP? :( Hoping for the best.
 
How did you pay? I'm sure you could file a claim with anyone -even paypal, since NOTHING was delivered- and get your money back. That's terrible, though.

Paypal only has a short dispute time. If I'm reading this right, she bought them around Christmas time and had been waiting on warmer weather to receive them. It would be way past the dispute time for paypal if that is the case.
 
With some matters, even though their dispute time is 45 days, you can still get Paypal on your side, especially if you call in to speak to a live person. The fact that no tracking was ever provided can work in the OP's favor. Only works sometimes but definitely worth a shot.
 
Absolutely. I wouldn't let this go without trying first. As long as you get a person, I'm sure it'll work to your favor.

Also, it's not comforting that it's been a little past a couple of weeks now and the other side hasn't come to defend herself. Not accusing, it's just... worrisome.
 
This isn't surprising as I had Liana Cathoir ( not her last name, from what I remember according to her PayPal payment ) as a customer previously. Other than being very pushy she was very difficult to get in touch with sometimes not responding for 2-4 days when contacting her for shipping. Unfortunate you have to go through this Amanda. Hope you find some type of resolve , Good luck.

That's definitely not a good sign. If she removed you just because you told her about this, I'm guessing that she wants nothing to do with this thread.

Not to be a negative nancy, but from my understanding Paypal does not give any protection for animal sales regardless of the time frame. They actually specifically exclude it in their protection policy. It obviously doesn't hurt to try, but just so people are aware.

While this is certainly true, if the OP disputes the charge based on the seller never shipping the product, then PP may just issue the refund.
