In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

In the year and a half I have been here, I have seen many new faces post to the board. They will arrive, saying they have just purchased their first snake, and ask questions. We should and do extend the hand of friendship to these new people for it is through them that our hobby will grow and prosper.

I myself arrived here after many years of not owning reptiles: I raised my children as a single mom and there were other calls on my time and funds.

But also from time to time there are posts from those who have decided to sell off their collection, leaving the reptile world because of reasons that compel this action at the time.

To those, I say we also should extend the hand of friendship to them and ask that they keep and renew their acquaintance with the good folks in the herp world.
Life is full of mountains and valleys and we all need to make different choices at different times. But I feel it is a blessing and a good thing to make sure that each of those who leaves, knows there is always a welcome when they return; so that when, like I did, they re enter our world, there are friends waiting.
