Lighting question...

I'm planing on building a cage and instead of buying expensive lighting from a pet store I was wondering if you can use regular lights found at lowes. I know they sell some sort of UV Light because my uncle gets them for his green house during the winter. In the cross fire bearded dragon cage DIY page they used some kind of regular outdoor spot light. Let me know what you think on this topic. Another reason I was wondering was because I get a discount at lowes cause my old man works there so I was thinking about making cages and selling them, that way people can afford them. First I was gonna buy a cage but I can't afford a lot of the prices out there.

Reptile UVB and “grow” lights are not the same thing. You will need to buy a reptile specific UVB bulb. As to the basking light, any bulb with the wattage that produces the correct temperature range will do just fine.
