• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I haven't gotten my BP yet, but I just looked over a care sheet and I have a few unanswered questions.
-When/how long should I leave the light on?
-Should I have a substrate in the hide box?
-How could I go about making it more humid in the hide box than the rest of the cage?

Same as you see outside, 8-12 hours is sufficient

Back to the hide box question I asked. You can always mist the box with a spray bottle. Use of coconut husk works like a sponge and does a great job at uping the humidity, you can use that as a substrate.
 
I don't know what kind of substrate I'm getting yet... I probably won't get him until next month because I have a 20 gallon tank, but I have my bearded dragon in it right now. I can't get my BP until I get a new tank for my bearded dragon. I'll look into coconut husk though.
 
Coconut Husks, Aspen... there are a couple things out there... Just make sure that it holds water well enough, but will not mold quickly.

For my balls that require a hide box I use one that is open bottomed and just sits on the substrate.
For a humidity hide I use a suitable container with long fibered sphagnum moss. The sphagnum doesn't mold and holds moisture extremely well. I use a similar container as a nexting box as well.

None of my ball cages have individual lighting, btu the room lights are controlled by a wall mounted timer/switch. I adjust this according to the seasons for breeding purposes but a non breeding snake can be kept at a constant photoperiod with no problems. Most commonly a 12 hour on/off schedule is used.
