In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey
I am trying to start a lizard rescue here in Portland OR.
I am looking for mostly beardies but will take pretty much any type of lizard under two feet.
I am really trying to start a rescue not just looking for free animals. Might pay a small adoption fee.
Cages and suplies always needed.
please email at [email protected]
Thanks

Maybe check a local pet store? I recently acquired another beardy. I hand't set out for one when I went to the local "reptile specialty" store. While I went to pick up some mice and worms, I looked at the reptile section they brag about, and it was a MESS! No UVB, feces and dead bugs in over-abundance and rancid water. The dragon I saw was big, but very slow and sluggish as well as being sort of thin. I know that everyone says to forget trying to save the poor looking animal because it will die, but I couldn't help it. I bought him and took him to the vet, he had pin worm, roundworm and (I think, sigh, I can't remember anymore) hookworm. It's been one month since I got him and he's doing great, he still twitches a little bit, but in time, that will go away due to his supplements and UVB. He's super tame and loves to sit under the window above my bed while gazing outside and at the sun. I know that buying an animal defeats the purpose of "resuce" in the traditional sense, but when that animal desperately needs rescuing, it sort of negates the price.

* Both dragons are kept in seperate enclosures.
