Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

LLL inquiry, has anyone dealt with them?

just curious to see what others have to say about these guys, i have had a few experiences but would like to here from everyone before i state my feelings, damien friesz

have generally been happy with goods purchased - have been very uphappy with the animal purchase when we tried. Since then we've only bought goods from them, and will continue to do so as they seem to do that well. We won't ever risk them for animals again.

thanks skye

heres my experience,
4 veiled chameleons 3 dead in 24 hours the fourth in 48 hours, severe dehydration, eyes sealed shut,
4 amazon tree boas 3 dead within 5 days , suspected ri, they were all very dehydrated, 1 had simular symptoms is still alive to date, its taken months to revive, lots of force feeding, lots of meds, lots of elecrolytes
20 frogs varied species all died with in 24-48 hours, some were doa, all very weak upon opening of the package, all cold, all dehydrated
4 banana geckos two died with in 24 hours 2 still good
4 crockadile geckos all died with one week the first with in 24 hours
15 tokay geckos one had terrible eye infecton, i mean terrible, due to mouth rot getting untreated, died two, three days later 14 are still alive
10 emporer scorpions most still alive[they were large so age could be a factor]
2mossy leaftail geckos, 1 died in less than 24 hours one is still alive
2 ebans leaf taiils both dead in 48 hours
2 satanic leaf tails both doa
now that this is open i must state i followed the tos on their site, i called immediately upon recieving, it took several days of being passed around before i was directed to the boss, he said he'd credit me , he then sent me two new veiled to replace the four? the first was in horrible shape, it died in three days, the second became my handi cap it held on forever, my girlfriend and i spend long hours force feeding, hydrating him, he even grew a little, he died around two weeks in,
now heres the issue, it sure looks like as i write this i have a brown thumb or something, its simply the most ridiculous experience i have ever been through, i have never experienced so much death, ever. i have 180 plus animals and all are healthy, great, well, and these are from all over, varios dealers, hobbyest, petstores, etc. nothing has died just cause, and when and if i have a death usually and most often always the seller has done well to compensate, this happened months ago, it still kils me, i probablly spent three hundred hours trying to save these little guys, it was like veiled 1-2-3-4-next ,frog15-18-20, next amazon 1, oh the ebans, next ,etc... the company was very negligent, did nothing to help, said sorry dont know what to say, i may have a 50 dollar credit or something but have and will never go back, i just keep seeing the ads everywhere and it really bugs me, some of these animals were very expensive, in combination i lost about 1200 bucks in animals in around a week, damien friesz

are you 100% sure that none of these animales have falling ill on account to something you may have done? i am just saying that becuse you are claiming a wide veriaty of herps that have all be ill and died. may i ask why you keep purchasing from them if you have had all these bad experances. or where all these animals purchased in one order?

yes

all of these died in the one and only order, all of them were in quarenteen in seperate cages, most of them never had a chance, as i stated i have alot of very healthy animals from alot of various places and in all maybe two or three have died out of all of them, and those deaths were unknown, just part of life i guess as all of my others are feeding , fat, and healthy, i cant quite get it, i got all of this stuff alot was on its way to its death some dead already, most died within a week, amazons dont just randomly get ri in southern ga with a good 90 degree weather 70 percent humidity and recieved at 10 in the mourning, i see these circumstances waaaaaaay out of my control, do 4 baby veilds have sealed lids and die off in 48 hour due to neglect in two days , no, nor do bananas, or even the more delicate, mossy, the ebans and satanics were dead and or dying in the ship box, im not kidding, the crocks were dead at the bottoms of their brand new cages the next day, no - while i was gone maybe ninjas came into my house and assasinated everyone, but really, this was bad, like holy bleep bad, spend that many man hours with four baby veileds that actually make crying noises, the eyes were sealed shut, they couldnt take food because they were so dehydrated, i took them to the vet, tried everything, i do have two large healthy female veileds that are great, one huge mellers its great, 20 chondros, a bunch of emeralds, amazons, 1.1womas, 1.1white lipped ,1.2jungle carpet diamonds,1.1 albino burms,1.1 high white ball pythons, 1.1 redtails,7.3 beauties, 1.2 cal kings,5.5tang hondos,5.5hondos,1.1 pueblans, 2.2 leucistic rats,1.1 mexmex,1.1san louis pagosi kings, 1.1 albino cal kings, 1 mossy leaf tail, 2 cresteds, 1 collard, 1nile monitor, 3 terribilis mints, 2 patricias, 4 lorenzos,4 mantella various, 1.1 rainbow boas,1.1 el paso sockheads 0.0.12sinaloans 1.1hypo brooksthis list will go on and on , point is i am studied, my cages are very well maintained, all of my animals from everyone else are fine,

wow thats amazing that a place like LLL ships out sick animals , i personaly never purchased anything from them , but they advertise all over the web and in reptiles mag. so people would assume that they are geting quality from a big dealer. Im glad you are putting the word out that no matter how large a company is they can still rip you off. so how about a refund? have you requested one? what other steps have you taken and what advice can you give to other who fall into the same situation as you have.

well

back then i did and got a very small credit for two animals, they also sent me two more veileds but only one was in ok condition the other died immediatly, the healthier one only held on for two weeks but was being forcefed, and hydrated, with out that i dont feel hed have made it so long, no advice really, it just bothers me everytime i see their ads i had to say something? damien friesz

Sorry, boss.... but, I find that very hard to believe??.... I know Loren, I've spoke to him at many shows (the man seems to know a lot about reptiles), and I've bought many animals from him.... whenever I see him at shows, his animals are all gorgeous and well-fed.... I have never had one animal he has sold me die, or did it come in sick (granted, I only buy his captive born things, like the Panther Chameleons I have on KS right now).... maybe I'm just the exception, but, you couldn't prove he's a bad guy by me....

I once thought I once heard MY Veils talking to me.... I thought I was going crazy, until I figured out it was just my dog throwing her voice!!.... lol

LLL

I live close to LLL, and have visited both stores MANY times. Since opening the Escondido store, I have not really been to the Oceanside store for about a year. So, I really will just comment on the Escondido store.

LLL has alot of WC animals.

Everything is housed in vision cages, or 20 gallon cham type cages. The veiled chams look good everytime I go in. About 3 yrs ago, I saw where they had some Amazons with mouthrot. These were the only "sick" animals I have seen. I bought leaftails there several years ago, and actually got Lineatus leaf tails, and hatched 4 eggs from them. The babies are so cool, and bright orange! Anyways, they are an above average store, clean, plenty of employees, and animals kept warm and in suitable caging.

They have wc animals, and cb, be sure to ask if wc is a problem, and they have always been upfront with cb vs. wc. If they had a nice 1000 gram male albino ball, I would have no problem buying from them.

Damien,

You do have quite a collection. I wish our local pet shop would carry the number and variety of reptiles you have in your house! The fact that you quarantene them separately, and even took 4 baby veiled chameleons to the veterinarian speaks volumes about your husbandry procedures and the care you provide to your animals. Do you do this just as a hobby or are you in the business? It's always nice to know where to go find animals when in need.

Kindly.

LLL Reptile

I have bought dry goods and feeders a bunch of times and animals only on one occasion......with no problem. (other than I thought it was odd how the tortoise was shipped) The animals where healthy.

never said that

neil i dont believe i ever said any of them were bad guys i am simply looking to others for their experiences, yes before veileds die they cry ,they make a whimperish sighing noise, its very sad, i have witness as it made my girlfriend cry when they did die, maybe its a bad case of ri?? dont really know because i didnt have enough time to really work on them as they only lasted two days ,

i dont sell, i dont breed, not now anyway, i feel these animals are absolutley important and spend endless resource on them, when i bought from them i didnt have as much experience as i do now, but if you look at the past inquirys its about 30%bad-70%good experiences, so you cant say everyones been happy,

i do need to restate the purchase info as i have realized i did buy from them twice not once, although the second order wasnt really for much in the way of animals it was in the end of the week i made my first purchase, it was almost all dry goods, the ebans, satanics, mossys, and the two replacement veileds, some frogs, dumpys and hardier species , that i still have to date, i dont feel husbandry issues are at stake here as i do have an arc and its full up and everyones doing swell, neil again he may be a good guy, i just dont see how 4 amazons had ri, how 4 baby veiled lasted only a couple of days , how is that, maybe they had a horrible time in route to me, i am not excluding this, the packages were solid upon arrival, so the heat? the cold? the whatever may be at fault, all i know is there was an outstanding amount of dehydration, i put alot of time trying my best to help these little guys out, and its not cool to be pushed away when trying to determine fact, i called them almost the minute i opened the package, i was very upset, was told thats normal, i beg to differ, i dont care if this changes your opinion its not really the point, i am dissatisfied and was just trying to pick brains, maybe they just had a bad day, whatever, i called them alot the first couple of weeks, did not feel i got the right advice, one would say they need more humidity, i dont know how much more humidity i could supply as they were in individual screen cages in the shower in southern georgia in the summer, it doesnt get more humid than that, by the way the others i have bought from their competition didnt have their eyes sealed shut, the snakes have never had creased wrinkly skin,

i find it sad neil that you are so quick to judge, you never seem to base anything on fact, you snipe everyone without call, i have every right to ask these questions, ive no need for enemies, i feel i explain myself diplomatically as often as can be, remember i am always a potential customer, that= money,

i do think the ebans, the mossys, and the satinics were the most ridiculous, they were so long gone when i opened the packages, it may easily have been heat, one of the ebans and satanics was doa, and the other two did die with in 24 hours, if thats bad husbandry on my part, well then we are all in trouble, there wasnt time for husbandry, damien friesz

p,s, as far as the smart assed comments i wont play a forum like that as it solves nothing, you obviously find yourself funny , i concerns me you show so little concern for these animals, why are you here?

I have never bought a animal from lll nor will I ever. I have seen them at a few shows and the animals look ok but they sell brothers and sisters as "pairs" therefore I will never buy from them. I know not to breed them but do all people stop to realize these are siblings? I dont think so. It shows little regard for the animals to me.

Just my 2 cents.

funny

i just reread neils post and it reminded me of a very important fact, alot of these animals were at a show the weekend before i got them, as i was supposed to get them on friday but didnt until tuesday because they were at a show, thats alot of stress? damien friesz

i have witness as it made my girlfriend cry when they did die, maybe its a bad case of ri??

Damien,

What you are saying is really important. When you took the veiled chameleons to the vet, what was his diagnostic? Was it an URI? I'm curious because I have bought supplies from LLL in the past and was considering buying animals in the future.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Damien.... I'm not judging you??.... It's very possible (now that I know the box was "loaded"), that the animals died from lack of oxygen.... that would explain the massive amount of animal deaths.... if you pack a box too full.... there is not enough available air for them to breath because the heatpacks "suck up" a lot of the available oxygen by itself....
I feel really bad for their demise, and you sound like you do a damn good job of caring for your "arc".... there aren't that many people who would expend the amount of time as you do.... I commend you for that!

Neil
