In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

LLL wants me to ship snakes to them and once they get them they say they will pay me.can i trust them to pay me???brad wooten

I have had 3 bad deals with lll (i placed 3 orders, one after another). 1 dead gecko, 1 broken incubator 1 incubator missing parts. None were replaced (well the broken incubator was to replace the dead gecko).

I believe they read this board.  They are very concerned w/their reputation.  They won't just flat out not pay you, especially if they know that a ton of people will find out.  I personally think they have treated some people not too fairly in the past, but they aren't gonna just scam you.  What I would do is take pics of the animals so you can post them here later if they claim they are messed up or something.  As long as you're shipping what you're telling them you're shipping, and you have proof, I would say you're 99% safe.

LLL, both stores, are in my area.   I frequent them a couple of times a month.   The owner and his wife are both very cool, knowlegable people.   I would not hesitate to ship to them first.   They actually have a store, cannot just pack up ship and take off with your snakes:)   They are ok in my book.

Scott at LLL is a very honest guy to deal with, I have had good dealings with him, and when not so good, he made it better! I would not hesitate to to ship to him first. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I don't think you should have any problems with LLL ' I have had nothing but good dealings with them in the past.

Brad....Whether it be business to business, person to person, person to business, or whatever...in the scenario that you described, I'm going to say that YOU called LLL to see if they would like to buy YOUR animals?? They said yes??...Then YOU should ship first....whomever initiates it, goes first....

If they called you and said..."I'd like to buy your animal"...then, obviously, they would just pay you for it ...then you would ship...they initiated it...they go first...

It doesn't matter what entity you're dealing with, if THEY initiate the trade, they ship first...if YOU initiate the trade (or sale), then you ship first...

Remember...my own personal rules (which these are), are for people that I don't know and have never done business with before...I've shipped countless numbers of animals to people BEFORE I got paid for them...but, I knew them...if I didn't know them...forget it!

No matter which way you're going to go with this....I really don't think you'll have a problem with LLL, though! ....Neil

i think you should use your full name here.thats in the rules.how can we trust a post when you wont put your name on it.brad wooten

I would trust LLL with any animal of any dollar value.  They're a stand up bunch of people, and as I learned with that dud Ball Python situation, they're very concerned with their reputation and are very willing to do whatever it takes to maintain it.

hello,
i was just reading about lll reptile wanting the reptiles first then paying you. well is the the way they do business with customers. i really dont think so. but until you and lll have a working relationship and begin to trust each other. i would send C.O.D. this way they are safe and you are safe. just add the C.O.D. charge to the price of the herps your shipping. remember if they were shipping to you C.O.D. you would have to swallow the C.O.D. charge too not them. so make them pay it.
