In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good Experiences with LLL Reptile

Hello,

Just a note here regarding my multiple purchases from LLL Reptile. Over the years I've purchased a number of animals from these folks and in each and every case the results have been good. My oldest son purchased a Ball Python from them approximately 6 years ago, and this boy is doing well still. My youngest son purchased a Uromastyx from them about 6 to 7 years ago, and she is also thriving. :)

With the above said, the purchases described were made at the Escondido store directly. I've not had experience with LLL Reptile as far as mail order is concerned.

Sincerely,

Dave Edwards

I got a 75% diamond x 25% jungle carpet from them back in Feb. It was packaged perfected. It had two head packs and was very warm to the touch. This is the thank you e-mail i seen them. Charles S. 2010-02-17:
Just got my 75%Diamond x 25%Jungle carpet today and it beautiful. With the temps being below 35 i wasn't sure if i should have it shipped. But it was very warm and active when it got here. The packing job was very well done. I am very pleased with the whole transaction. I look forward to doing more business with you in the future. Thank You

It 's been 4 months he doing awesome. He grown almost 4 inches and is a eating machine. Very freindly and just a beautiful snake. Just go on their web site and read all the reveiws. I can't complain with a snake this sweet. A pic worth a 1000 words. Charles Suit outdoors 2 076.jpg

My dealings with LLL reptile has always been good. I've had quite a few supply shipments from them and they have always been quality products and on time. I also bought my first Ball Python from them, despite living in South Dakota and having it shipped right at the end of winter when it was still pretty cold the snake arrived alive and well. I will not hesitate to continue ordering from them.

When I saw this thread, I expected to see nothing but positive feedback. I just recently tried LLL Reptile for the first time. I order some supplies and 1000 crickets. The crickets arrived within a day or two (didn't really keep track because I wasn't even expecting them until the following week due to Memorial Day and I ordered late in the week) and the rest of my order arrived in less time than I was promised.

Everything was well packaged and my crickets were lively and healthy. I'll keep trying them as long as they repeat the level of service that I experienced.

ordered an albino emorys rat snake and an albino sinaloan milk snake yesterday (6/8/10) over the phone around 3pm pacific. both snakes arrived around 10am, well packed, in perfect condition and more spectacular looking that i expected.

i'd purchased from them at shows in the past (and been happy with my purchases) but never over the phone. now i have no problem doing so again or recommending them to others.

I've purchased everything from them. Supplies, frozen rodents, and live animals. I recently (6/20) purchased a very healthy female Colombian Rainbow boa from them at the Emerald City reptile expo in Seattle. The guy acted like I was taking too much of his time, but that might have been because it was right before closing. I still got all my questions answered and came away feeling good about my purchase. Thank you LLL Reptile!

Well, since I last posted about 6-7 weeks ago, I have ordered supplies and crickets a couple more times. This week I received 1000 each of 3/4" and what were supposed to be 1/4". The 1/4" that I received were more like pinhead or maybe 1/8". I wasn't very happy at all, but with this being the first time that I had ever ordered such a small feeder, I thought maybe it was because they would grow too big by the time I got to the end of the order??

I really wasn't sure, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and didn't even bother to call. Well, today I was noticing that almost half of what's left are dead. I've already gone through more than twice what I planned to have gone through by now (because of their small size) so I was a little more irritated.

Rather than just getting online and placing a new order, I decided to call and do so on the phone (something I never do, as I like everything in writing). I explained to the young lady that answered my call, that I had already waited a couple of days since receiving my order (today is Friday and I received these Wednesday) and did not expect any type of compensation. I just wanted to make sure that I had ordered the correct size. Within a few minutes she was thanking me for my business and telling me that my FREE replacements would arrive this coming Tuesday!!!! I couldn't believe it! She even upgraded me to a 1/2" cricket to ensure that I got what I really needed!

With customer service like this, I see myself being loyal to LLLReptiles for a LONG time!!!!!!!!

LLL Reptiles is great!
I have bought supplies from them several times, and I'm always satisified.
The blue poison dart frog on my avatar is from them too.
I got two of these little guys at a reptile show LLL was vending at. They were my first darts, and they're still doing great! They grew quick!
I've never purchased a live animal online from them yet, but I would hesitate to!
Awesome company!

Their customer service IN THE STORE is awful. I have never ordered from them as I live in San Diego but when you go into the Oceanside store, it is almost impossible to get anyone to talk to you. Anyway some people have had really good things to say about them. but the only thing i think is good about them is they have a large variety of animals but the inverse is they look like they are packed in the cages.

they have a large variety of animals but the inverse is they look like they are packed in the cages.

Interesting - I was just there not too long ago and what I saw was just the opposite. The animals were housed in small groups, if not individually, and everything was clean and healthy.

If you want to see animals packed in the cages, walk into a petco and ask to see the ball pythons or boas - they'll probably have several of each in the same cage.

(Qoute) The snake arriving with mites was their fault...you not being there when the package arrived was not. What was the cause of the snakes death...was being left outside contributory?
__________________ it probably has something ti do with it but as a responsible company they shouldn't have given the instructions that it COULD be left outside. i have missed 2 other shipments from other companies and they didn't leave it outside, they took it back and reshipped it and notified me of the new time

So you've missed 3 shipments before? Sounds like you need to be more concerned with the safety of your animals! Even as a newbie reptile owner, I know to make sure someone is home to collect animals from shipment. Its not like you aren't aware they are coming.

Good grief. I'm surprised you haven't lost more critters in shipping!

well the petco here has like two ball pythons in it. but i know what your saying. there ball python setup has like 15 or 20 ball pythons in it. I have never been to the escondido store though so i cannot speak for them.

I will say this. the cages are clean and the animals look healthy...it just doesnt look right.
the last time i went up there and asked them about a snake...one of the employees said "oh they suck" and laughed. I don't consider that information on the species or anything helpful.
But to each their own. they have a following and have some pretty cool stuff. I just would not shop there again.

As a dry good supplier or non-snake source, I would consider them. But the high volume they do leaves them wide open to mites, as I have personally witnessed. That's not to say every snake or even the store is constantly infested with mites, but be aware of it. Even though mites have become much easier to deal with with the newer methods of Nix and Hypoaspis Miles, they still are a pain and if you have a really large snake collection, I would recommend against LLL UNLESS you personally witness a mite treatment for your animal in store.

What LLL does is great prices. Their service is about middle of the road. Not bad but not fantastic. It all depends on how busy they are, but for the most part, the employees are nice and willing to help.

Bad CrazyKid No!

Has anyone had issues with snake mites from LLL?

Every animal (snakes) I received from LLL has had mites. Don't know if that has happened with others, but with snakes- they have all been covered in mites.

Once I quarantined and cleared the animals of having mites, they are now healthy and happy.

The customer service I talked too seemed concerned that the mites were there, but now at reptile shows when I look at their boas, pythons and some colubrids, I can find mites in the temporary containers. Not saying DON'T buy- just saying BEWARE. Purchase Provent-A-Mite if you buy from LLL, and QUARANTINE! (just as you should buying from anyone)

Has anyone had issues with snake mites from LLL?

Yes I have, I bought 2 corn snakes and a hypo nic from them and they all had mites, it took a while, but the infestation finally cleared. And as a side note one of the corn snakes died about 4 weeks after I purchased, the little guy just seemed really weak and had a hard time trying to swallow any food.

But I used to buy supplies from them, and they were always great about the dry goods, but needless to say, I have not bought from them in a while.
