    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

webslave how come it takes so long for a page to load? I spend more time waiting for page to load than i do reading posts. bob clarks was like that and they done something and it works alot better. mabye you can check with them and see what they done sure would help.   loren winters <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
 
The webmaster is out for a while I think, something to that effect in one of his psotings recently. As for the pages taking long to load, not on my computer they don't and I only have a 56K modem. They seem to load as fast as any other pages. Maybe the problem is your connection to the web or with your computer.
 
The type of connection does seem to make a difference with load times.

At home I use a satellite upload/download connection (Starband) that seems rather slow with this site, but rather peppy with my CORNSNAKES.COM forums using vBulletin.  Yet when I'm out of town using my laptop with a 56K modem, both load rather quickly.

I am planning on moving this system over to vBulletin sometime in the fall months when I have more time, and I believe it will speed up considerably when I do so.  vBulletin is written in PHP rather than the Perl scripting Ikonboard uses, so that can make a substantial difference.

Oh one other thing.  Recently I have had to remove some of the external links to some of the topsites servers I was attached to.  Some were bogging down the system considerably, and may have contributed to the slowness.  My FaunaTopSites page is local to the same server this site resides on and will not slow down the page displays noticeably at all.  I'm afraid one more of them will eventually have to go, as the other one remaining is located on a server in Europe if I am not mistaken.  The time lag to the server and back can make a difference in the display time.
