In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have been looking for something to use in my snake buildings that will, specifically, take care of the damn Daddy LongLeg spiders but will not be dangerous to my colubrids. All of the individual cages are treated with Proventamite once a season which helps but, being in Florida, the insects are pretty prevalent.

Any suggestions out there?

We are currently using a product called "Not Nice to Bugs"
It is a natural formula pest control - no pesticides. It is safe for kids and pets!

Yeah - there really IS such a thing. :)

I hope that works for ya.

Have you been using it long? Any negatives regarding the product?

Thanks

We have been using it for several months. We know other herpers that have used it for a couple of years - that is where we heard about it.

The only negative is the strong smell of mint. It can make your sinuses wake up - for sure! I usually run a fan for an hour to dissipate the smell.

Just for that purpose, we bought 13 bibron geckos about 5 years ago. They were happily running around the house for a few years, but they have all passed on now. The spiders and escaped feeders were their targets, and it worked well. We plan to get more geckos in the future.

Currently though, we need to keep the ants from invading. When it rains - the ants want in!!! And the geckos don't eat them. Those darned ants get in all the feeder cups for our chameleons and drive me nuts near the kitchen.

Maybe someone could cross a sticky-foot gecko with a horned lizard..? :D

John any follow up on the product. I have a problem with Box Elder Bugs here and with the unseasonably warm weather they are finding their way into everything including the reptile room.

It works great as a contact killer and deterrant but does not seem to have much, if any, residual killing strength. The smell is pretty potent as well. All in all....not bad
