Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Lucille, here are a few links that provide ferret information. Just don't believe every single thing you read. I know that most of my knowledge about ferrets came from other breeders. Almost all breeders will gladly answer the questions of a newbie in the ferret world.

Uh oh, kid #1 emailed and said he may be getting a job where he can't have his fuzzy pets. Guess who might get them :rolleyes:
 
Lucille, it may be a blessing in disguise. :hehe: Ferrets are the most wonderful little creatures. I guarantee you will fall head over heals in love with it if you do indeed take him/her in.
 
There are a pair of them. I have lots of concerns, the main one is the fact that I have other critters and I want all my critters to be safe, aren't ferrets hunters? As long as they absolutely can't get out of their cage while I'm not there, I suppose everyone should be OK.
I should know by the end of the week whether he gets the job, if he does, they will be at my house Saturday.
I have no idea where to buy ferret chow. Maybe Petsmart? I've never seen any at my local feed store.
 
I would suggest buying and feeding only Totally Ferret brand ferret food. It the BEST ferret food on the market and the only one specifically designed for a ferrets needs. I have tried many diffrent brands and have always went back to Totally Ferret. It makes their coats super healthy & silky smooth. It helps keep down the amount of plague and tartar in their teeth and it doesn't make the poop smell. Some brands out there are horrible because of the poop smell. I've attached a picture of the color bag you want to get. They have a few diffrent blends but they are for seniors and such. You would want the blue bag.

www.TotallyFerret.com or I know some pet stores carry it. Kinda pricey but worth every penny.


And yes, they are hunters. If they escape and can find a way into a lizard, small snake or rodent cage, they will kill whatever is inside. As long as it doesn't get them first. They are also talented escape artists. I would suggest a good secure locking mechanism of some sort. And make sure to test it throughly. I have had to zip strip cages closed before do to a couple of escape artists I had.

Thanks for the link. I think they must have some food, I will wait to see if they are going to be here and whether I want to keep them and if I do, I'll send off for that brand.
 
The ferrets are here and interesting critters to be sure, they are *most* happy to be here as my son was called out of town and his Dad was not wanting to take care of the ferrets at all.
