    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone. I'm looking for either an adult pair or sub adult pair of German Giants. I see tons of dragons that have the german blood in them, but are not pure germans. If you have some, or know of someone that does, and are looking to sell, please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.

oh, one more thing,....if it was the right deal, I would buy single animals instead of a pair.

Just wanting to help you out here before you spend money on something that it is not. You will not find a true "German giant" in the states or the UK. The reason is that true german giants were selectivly bred vitticeps and barbata. Sine we can not get the barbata here (due to export laws in australia) the bloodline has been thinned to the point of nothing. 95% of the time when someone says that they have a beardie with German Giant blood it is because either A they were told the dragons parents had Giant blood or B the dragon is quite large so they just say it. Just wanted to let you know that before you get a message for a 100% pure german giant for only 799 or something.

Interesting... I didn't know that. Cause Dragons Den sells germans for only $125-150. These are not actually pure german giants? So what is the difference between "pure" german giants and the ones being sold as actual german giants? I always though there is nothing really special about them... they just look like huge normals, and if they aren't even pure then thats basically what they are right? Thanks for the info.

My understanding...

as far as I knew it was only a theory that barbata were crossed in to get the german giants and that no actual proof one way or the other existed... It would make since but I would advise to not so much look for "german" lines as much as look at the parents of any potentials until you find those that are attaining the sizes you're looking for regardless of wether they are "german giant" because he's right most people who get an unusually large dragon will just assume it is german but that is not neccessarily the case.

Yea, this is funny because several of the shows down here have a few breeders that sell them. One stands out in my head because they had a huge one on display. And as I recall, the sign said that the lines were pure. I guess the next time I see them, I'll have to question them about this. I mean, I guess you could (over years of breeding) get 95% or so pure....couldnt you? Because like I said, the one I remember, was huge. I mean,...it was as big as some monitors I've seen. Ya know something, now that I'm concentrating my efforts on beardeds, I'm finding that no one out there can 100% agree on anything with these. Everyone thinks they know something different than the other guy. It's so funny to me. I mean, when I worked with burms and balls,....everyone has the same knowledge on them. But with these things, it's very hard to learn about them because all the info is different. Heck, I've even read 3 different books about them......specifically on how to cycle them and breed them. All three books were different on certain things dealing with breeding. LOL. I guess I need to take as much info as possible, and form my own conclusions

the german giant line was created back in the late 70s early 80s. there has been decades of constant outcrossing on this line so no there is no way of getting a 95% pure german giant. Its just like in humans. If you take a person that is 1/4 cherokee and another person of the same level and they have kids it does not make their kid 1/2 cherokee.

there is one person that comes to mind that knows pretty much everything there is to know about german giants. she has gone through every avenue via us and uk breeders trying to find someone with un-crossed german giant lines and it is impossible. Her name on here is Drache613. She can explain it a lot more in depth than i can. but to make a long story short there is basically no such thing as a "german Giant" any longer. I have a 22 inch dragon that is a "german giant hypo pastel" and he is the only one out of his clutch to reach that size. The only reason he is as big as he is is due to care. He is larger than either of his parents were.

Anyway, PM Drache613 if you want some more in depth knowledge on the German Giant line.

something else to keep in mind like spyder said is the care.... the amount of food recieved in early development has a huge impact on the size your dragons will reach.

Dragon's Den sells German Giants...the bearded dragon manual by Vosjoli,Mailloux and Donoghue states that Pete Weis brought them from Germany years ago

dragons dens does not sell true german giants. they sell german giant morphs just like everyone else that has them. no one has a "true" german giant any longer.
