In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

looking to start an all captive show in chicago area !

I would be interested in a CBB show such as sewerfest. I have been at that show for the last three years. Of course I have also been at Lee's probably the same number of times in the past three years, and I know I have sold three times as much (of my CBB stuff) at any one of Lee's shows than all three sewerfests combined. That is not to say that shows like sewerfest are not a good idea. I thought the last one was pretty well attended and I did OK, made enough to pay for the table, pay for my store help, and enough to buy some nice CBB henkles leaftails and red eye tree frogs from Scott Gaeding but then I probably could have bought the same thing from him at Lee's since he sets up there pretty much every show. Like I said, I would be all for another cbb only show in the area, just don't make yours on the first Saturday or third Sunday of the month because your turnout, both vendor wise and attendees wise will be pretty low because most of the people will be attending the "dirty" one.

hi Lee

well thank you for your support ! and for having a sence of humor . couldnt remember your last name . and you are the General over there :) ...... you definately do well with your show . sure you can understand a captive-breeders concern for visiting even a pet shop much less a swap where feeders and captive bred animals could possibly be subjected to some of the "nasties" from the WC or import animals (not the vendors lol ) that are present . the vendors are very-nice and it is a nice show when putting my concerns aside .

Groovy

Did you delete a post where you commented on Lee Watsons show? I could have sworn you posted about his show, but it vanished! Maybe Im wrong.

Sorry for the late entry on this but, as the guy behind the sewerfest show, I have just one huge word of caution. You need to figure out a way that your vendors will be able to have C.B. animals all year long, if you want to have a show every other month or so. If it were not for the fact that many of the guys who sell at our show, are extremely low or out, between dec and may, I would hold shows all the time.

Shane,
Whats the word on sewerfest? I haven't heard anything yet, still going on this summer?

Same Question from Texas...

Last year I attended and had a table for the first time at Sewerfest. I did ok. But I had a better time visiting with friends from Illinois I had not seen since the 80's. If Ilinois allowed hots I would do a show at Lee's. I look forward to doing Sewerfest again. Lee was at the last one so he must not have a problem supporting other worthwhile shows. Shawn, send me info for your show this year.
For those of you travelling, I am putting on the 2nd Annual Captive Bred Reptile Show here in Austin, TX. www.AustinReptileExpo.com/ :wavey:

One of the reasons we haven't sent out all of the info yet, is because we are still unsure about the new wildlife bill that is being worked on. Many of you know it states any animal coming into the state must have a clear bill of health from a vet. That would mean every vendor coming from out of state would need a statement for every leopard gecko for instance. That would be crazy. I have heard conflicting things that it has passed and is in effect others say no, so I am still researching. If anyone knows the real answer and where I can find it let me know. But anyways the show will be on Sunday July 31, Same location same times. The site is also being redone, thats been another one of the holdbacks for not releasing all the info. But for now start spreading the word, and look for sewerfest.com to be up soon.

Thanks for the interest everyone.

they are having one in streamwood illinois im not shure when though

what is the adress of the one i n streamwood illinois and how much is admission to it and is it any good?? sorry for all the questions... ohh and i know there is one this friday but what time

Are you talking about lee watson's reptile swap? (http://www.reptileswap.com/) If so, you missed it. It was this last Sunday. I was there late last year and did like it... a little crowded, but I did manage to find a few animals I liked.

Personally, I think Sewerfest is better in terms of quality of merchants (not saying that merchants there are bad, but the animals tend to be better at sewerfest), but the reptile swap certaintly give you a lot more opportunities.
