    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I can say goodbye to my cushy MB job. I am an auto tech at a privately owned smaller Mercedes dealership. Well, a larger, chain MB dealership has opened it's doors 5 miles from us, and in the month it has been open we have lost more than half of our business. They are also a Maybach dealership, so mine has nothing to compete with. So they announced last night that they are closing their doors before Christmas, and they laid off half the techs. I didn't get laid off last night, but either way...

We have all known it was coming since we realized who was building in the next town over. But last night it was made official.

I have three problems. One, I will probably not be able to get another MB job. I was extremely lucky to get this one as MB prefers people with at least 10 years experience. Two, it's the "Christmas Season" and the slowest season of the auto industry, so NO ONE is hiring. And I mean NO ONE. I work 50 miles from my home, and I have applied at every auto center from my home to my job... I have awesome references, my own tools, schooling, a clean driving record, and experience, so I know it's not me! Third, going from MB to any other job means a GIGANTIC pay cut, maybe as low as half of what I am making.

I don't really want pity, just some prayers that I can get a job before my own job is gone so I am not without work for any time!
 
I feel cheesy posting this twice, but I am kind of freaking out, as I was called and told not to come in today...

I do have nursing, towing, and clerical skills to fall back on though :) It might be neat to get a job in one of those fields for now. Keep my skills sharp.
 
Oh i'm so sorry to hear that. You have my prayers and best wishes!

I'm out of work right now and i'm actually dreading going back. Its going to become neccessary though. I am hoping to get back into school and hopefully change careers but that won't be for a while.

Take care of yourself, i'm sure you'll be alright and find another job soon.

Rather not! Although a much different situation in my case
But yet still wondering how the bills are going to get paid

It is good you have other skills to fall back on
