In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Lou Rodrigues, Designer Ball Pythons also on Kingsnake.com

If you want to think about it that way, the driver stating he made a delivery attempt (and did not leave a sticker as proof that he made an attempt) is also hearsay.

If in fact the driver did not make a delivery attempt, that is what I meant by the buyer should not be held accountable, obviously.

I have nothing to "back up" this particular case, obviously...Pretty silly to even ask that. I'm simply pointing out a different viewpoint based on my experience with UPS as well as the countless others that, if you did the research, you would be well aware of. Right out of the gate everyone is accusing him of lying...But if you did a bit of looking around, you would know it's not a far-fetched thing to happen. I think it's a pretty crappy thing for him to be called a liar when you have no proof he's lying...Basing your statements instead on what the driver said.

Do you work for UPS? You're getting awfully hot and bothered with negative opinion about them.

At this point, the seller obviously has made his choice. Arguing isn't going to help...Neither is calling someone a liar without proof...Errors on both ends were made, it is what it is at this point. :shrug01:

Do I work for UPS? NO, I don't even use them for shipping. I use Fedex over night priority.

Does Fedex over night priority cost more? Yes
Why do I use Fedex over night priority if it costs more? Because I put the animal first, not the customer. The animals are the one's being put in a box and being shipped to who know's where.
Have I lost sales because I would not use the cheaper UPS? Yes, several times, and so be it. If I am going to guarantee an animal for live arrival, it gets shipped the way I want it shipped, utherwise, why should I guarantee it. If a buyer doesn't like my shipping methods or my terms of service, they can buy from someone else. There are plenty of sellers out there. I have no hard feelings to a potential customer if they choose to buy from someone else. I put the animal first, not the customer.

A UPS driver is under no obligation to put a note on someone's door for a missed delivery attempt. So, even if the OP says there was no note, where is the crime in that? And for anyone commenting, where is the proof that there was no such note? Again, people are not sticking to the facts here.

The buyer is held accountable in this situation, WHY? The only documentation states that there was no one there for the first delivery attempt, this is fact, right or wrong, it is DOCUMENTATION, AND THE ONLY DOCUMENTATION.

WHEN A BUYER MISSES THE DELIVERY, HE IS NOT HOLDING UP TO HIS END OF THE DEAL, OR HIS OBLIGATION. THE BUYER HAS AN OBLIGATION TO THE ANIMAL JUST LIKE THE SELLER. IF NO ONE IS THERE FOR THE DELIVERY, THE DEATH IS ON THE BUYER, NO EXCEPTIONS. HOW IS THAT THE SELLER'S FAULT?

ALSO, I AM ACCUSING BOTH PARTIES OF LYING TO SOME DEGREE.

THE ONLY THING GOING ON NOW, IS THE BEATING OF A DEAD HORSE. THIS THREAD IS GOING NOWHERE AND HAS GONE NOWHERE, AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO NOWHERE. THIS THREAD IS NOW SERVING NO PURPOSE.

So, I came to this thread to find out if Lou Rodriguez was reputable and could be counted on to buy a snake from.

After reading much of this thread, it seems that there is really only 1 unhappy buyer who has made a single transaction into a 33 page BOI thread. It doesn't seem to be about a guy ripping people off, misrepresenting snakes, flipping without proper quarantine or disclosure, or anything else that is real shady.

So, my question to any of you here - has anyone bought from Lou and been happy or not?

That is my interest in the BOI, not 33 pages of what 2 mature adults with a few comments of neutral third parties should have been able to figure out in about 20 posts.

If you searched his name on here, and all you could find was this thread, it should be easy to come to a conclusion. You could also try Google and see what you can find there.

Funny how you criticize adults in your post, yet you, an adult, can't research a breeder by yourself. The BOI is a helpful tool to aid you in making a decision, it's not a tool that makes your decision for you.

Lou R good guy

I have purchased over 50 ball pythons from Lou over the past 4 years and never had an issue. Lou said if I ever had a problem he would make it right which I know he would. To this day I continue to buy bp's from Lou. Bp's I have purchased from Lou are always healthy, mite free, and guaranteed sex and genetics. Buy with confidence.

I find this to be pretty rude. The boi is here for people to share their experiences. If he's not finding many, then he should ask if anyone has had positive or negative experiences with the breeder. There are posts like that all the time. Asking people about a breeder is doing research.

Thanks for the comment Kristi, I was seeking information. Perhaps my use of the term adult upset him. Maybe I should have used the term "Professional" instead.

In the end, like you said, I was asking people for information about a specific breeder. I was not, however, asking for people on fauna classifieds BOI to make my decision for me.

Also of note is that Lou Rodridguez saw my post and emailed me directly, providing additional information, along with the constructive input provided by people like Bob, that add to the information I was seeking to assist in my decision making process.

Thanks for the information.

Perhaps you should consider starting a "Good Guy" Thread to provide an alternative view of Lou that may more accurately reflect his business dealings.

We do prefer if people can utilize existing threads as was done here.
Just FYI
thank you,

I'm sorry you feel that way, but his message would have been heard loud and clear without the following from his post;

"That is my interest in the BOI, not 33 pages of what 2 mature adults with a few comments of neutral third parties should have been able to figure out in about 20 posts."

I felt that the above was a little demanding, and rude as well, especially considering he's been a member for three months. Hence my reply.

People retaliating with comments that don't pertain to the thread is why it's 33 pages of headache. If it don't pertain to the thread, then it's best left unsaid.

How has noone pointed out that you shipped through UPS. Last time I checked you are not allowed to ship reptiles through UPS, only Fed EX. Not going to chime in on this issue since there seem to be major discpreancies in both of your stories. I wouldn't buy from Lou simply because he ships through UPS, which is neither legal or safe for the animals. Ship the correct way and this would have been avoided, possibly.

This thread is pretty old and you were able to ship reptiles, but not snakes with UPS. Many people had UPS accounts to ship.

Just to clarify, it's not illegal to ship reptiles, or even snakes through UPS. It's against their policy, but it's not a law. You may be mixing it up with USPS. Ship a snake through USPS, and you will be breaking a law.
