In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

"Lovemoney", Chris Mark, Lindenhurst NY ...BAD GUY

In all fairness, many states offer a permit system to own certain animals which are otherwise illegal.

What I would like to see is some evidence that; 1. a deal even occured, 2. the seller was notified of a problem, and 3. information on how he shipped.
Thus far, other than the seller offering to ship USPS we don't have any evidence that he has done anything at all.
He sounds like he is brokering animals and this Chris person was the person who actually had the snake. Is there a chance that this Chris person is not in NY?

The linked ad contains the line-

I purchased her 13 months ago from "Silly Serpents" now I am forced to downsize my collection.

If it was drop shipped from another owner, at the very least they're guilty of misrepresentation- discounting unlikely extenuating circumstances and multiple addresses.

Thanks Mr. Haley,
I missed that link earlier, had to go back and find it just now.

Perhaps Silly Serpents could shed some light and confirm the buyer of the snake 13 months ago. I know he's a registered user here.

And again, I will ask Derek ... are you unable to take a photo of the vet bill and the snake and upload to this thread? (you said you don't have a "photo copier")

True, but the law in NY clearly states:
3. Any person who possesses or harbors a wild animal for use as a pet at the time that this section takes effect may retain possession of such animal for the remainder of its life, provided that such person.......

6. Any person in possession of a wild animal as a pet that has been granted a permit pursuant to subdivision four of this section shall not breed, sell, trade, barter or exchange such wild animal.

yes i will try to get a cam to take a pic of the snake and recepit.....and he used fed ex bc i told him thats the one i always use

I haven't seen Sonny from Silly Serpents in quite some time. Last year at a Manassas, VA show was the last I think. Not sure how easy it would be to contact him.

Hello all, this is Sonny/ Silly Serpents. It was brought to my attention about the scrub python that Jason Perez bought off me awhile ago. Figured i put some light on all this. When i purchased her for a breeding program roughly 3 yrs ago she did the same exact thing (the blowing bubbles) and i too was concerned. But she had good weight so i quarantined her. After a shed she was fine with no other signs of illness. She fed aggressivly on large rats 2 weeks later as well(she needed an acclimation period). She remained totally fine until her next shed in which she did the same thing again. Weird i know but its what she does. I treated her for a URI just in case but nothing changed. Not sure why she is like that or even how reptile qualified the vet who examined her is but when i sold her to Jason it was still the same. URI's are a great concern amongst all i know as i own quite a few reptiles myself but this amithystine is odd. Not backing anyone up but if Jason took good care of her then she is in great shape. I have not seen her since Jason bought her as i live in Virginia but i have spoken to Jason and he sounds like a good guy to me. Before anyone says anything on that..No he is not a friend as i have never met him.A lot of people Ship using fed-ex or USPS just no one says anything untill theres an issue. humans are weird. Hope this helps a little. Sonny Aumada/Silly Serpents

Not sure if I missed something in the thread, but...did the vet do a C&S panel? What was the result?

I ask because in my experience some scrubs DO blow bubbles when pissed off and forcefully exhaling. Until two months ago I had a 5.5 barneck colony and and two of the ten were occasional bubble blowers, including a 10' Prada female. Freaked me out the first time I saw it.

I'm curious if other scrub owners have had the same experience...

hello boi,i waited till i could contact sonny before i posted, ans also because i become nervous at the post some members were making against me without even 1st hearing my side.i will now start from the begining.
i sol derek the scrub through fedex.my employee chris mark took her to fedex for me because i was very busy.when the fedex man handed him the forms to fill out he entered his info and showed his driver liscence to the fedex man.that how the name chris mark comes in.then fedex places thier forms on the box.i dont think this is illegal?when my employee notified me the scrub was sent i jason called derek to let him know(i asked 4 his phone # for this purpose.i then asked derek to call me when scrub arrived the next day.on the phone with derek i kind of got the vague impression he was some what slow.this might sound bad but its the idea i got.ok next day derek calls me to say scrub as arrived.he states everything looks great.but noticed 2 small bubles.i tol him as sonny tol me when i bought her that this was normal for her.she sometimes blew a buble when she got pissed off.i told derek her vents nostrils are mouth are all clean .he said yes they were.ok aweek or so later derek calls me stating the scrub has a ri.i asked if the was heated properly because even in summer where he lives upstate temps drp in the nite.he did not answer, just said the vet said it was in ri,i would i pay half.i asked if he could give me a cpy of the vet bill,he said no.so i said i would not pay.till this day there has not been a vet bill or pics of a ri produced.he mumbles something i cant comprehend and hangs up.2 days later i recive message from 2 members here notifying me of the boi thread.i beleive it was john dove and a member named lily who i now thank for the heads up.i read the boi and certain posts bash me without knowing the whole story.wow thanks alot.atleast let me reply 1st.thanks to those who had cooler heads.
i then contact sonny to state the condition of the scrub.he has now done so,and thank u sonny.
so what did i do wrong, make a mistake in my adds abou usps?once i was aware i would not use them.the post office here says no snakes, but turtles are ok.fraggin dragin was kind enough to let me know about it being illegal to ship usps and we had several pms about it.but the piont is it never happened.
any more questions or info needed on this topic feel free to ask,as im sure i probably left some thing out here that need to b added.

yes from what the original owner sonny and all reasearch i did scrubs are somewhat know to have bubles when pist.its like a temper tantrum.but it is no ri whatsoever.

...of course scrubs blow bubbles when they have an RI also.

If you see bubbles it doesn't mean it isn't an RI just because it's a scrub.

That's why I asked about the C&S panel. Did anything nasty like Psuedomonas show up? Or was the ceftazadime more as a pro-active measure?

thanks sonny for letting me know all of that...that helps out a lot

first off jason never asked for a vet bill...I would be happy to fax him one if I got a number??? I have not posted it yet bc I have no camera at the moment
he never asked me about my temps....just told me how he kept his temps and humidity

and u sayin that im slow is just stupid....u think that makes ur case more believable or something???

[

why would i not ask 4 a copy of the vet bill?did i not ask 4 proof?you derek stated u did not have proof.am i supposed to pay on ur word alone?and i know it was not a ri when i had her.i told u of her history and background.
derek u know my phone # because i gave it to u.u knew the # when she arrived and later when u wanted to know about the bubble,so why did u not use my # again and notify me about the board of inquiry thread?did u think i would not hear about it?whats the matter got something ur not telling us?
oh by the way let me dig out my fax machine!you have a fax machine but do not have a camera?are you having that much trouble digging up a vet bill from somewhere?
the only reason i stated that u may be slightly mentally handicap when we have spoken on the phone is to let the boi know what im dealing with.
thanks

I can't believe the silly chatspeak you guys use when conducting a professional discussion. It makes you both appear mentally challenged. Yeah, it's a trivial thing, but I'd think that you'd both want to present yourselves better while trying to make your cases before the members of this site.

:iagree:

Not to bang on you guys specifically, but 2 of my pet peeves are the lack of professionalism when typing on a message board. Chat speak and not bothering to use the spell check tool that is readily available. People are supposed to be representing themselves and their "business", even if it is just your hobby, be professional. Many times I have passed on a purchase because of this, how you present yourself goes a long way towards how you are perceived by potential customers; especially for the people who many have never heard of to begin with. O.K., off my soapbox now...

well i did text u the day i started the thread to let u know about it.
and my gramp owns a sub shop so thats why i can use a fax machine to fax u the bill...

i just wish u would of said that she blew bubbles in you add and had the # on there to call silly serpents so none of this would of even happen.....of course im goin to go to a vet when the guy i buy it says it is normal bc ive never herd of a thing
but its all good now that i the previouse owner told me all that info

and munson if u dont like it DONT READ IT!

I also agree with Roy and you may want to heed his comments. As mentioned above, it goes to the perception of your level of professionalism, which will reflect in the number of people who would be willing to do business with you. Personally, I would never send my money to someone who types like a teenager chatting with his “BFF”.
