    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Luis Torres, Murray Utah (Bad Guy)

I understand that Luis was a friend you thought you could trust, but to be honest I don't think you should have sent him the animals without the full, or almost full amount of payment.

You of all people should know that when it comes to herp deals, TRUST is a four letter word.. In the future protect yourself by collecting ALL of your money BEFORE animals are shipped out. And, remember that if somoene (friend or otherwise) does not have the money today, they will certainly NOT have the money tomorrow!!

3 years later and it's still a sticky!

Rich you must really hold a grudge! I've been burned before, never a nice feeling but I realized there is a point to let it go. There was nothing I could do about it after all my efforts. Some times the healing starts when yo let it go and consider it a lesson learned. IMO however...
 
Somehow I doubt Rich has been stewing over this continuously since he posted it. I've stuck a few threads over the years because I wanted them easily found...that done, I went about my business & rarely considered them again.

So after what amount of time elapsed that someone hasn't paid you the money they owe you does that person stop becoming a bad guy?

At what point does a person feel that warning other people about dealing with such a person is no longer a valid concern?

Is there some sort of ethical statute of limitations that I am not aware of concerning such things?

They don't stop becoming a bad guy in my eyes or in this case yours.

That's what the BOI is for, thanks for giving us this handy tool Rich.

There is none and that's why your post will never be deleted.

I find it odd or should I say you appear to hold a grudge like no other however, many of us have been in your shoes and we post in the BOI but don't post ads or make them stickys. We know you are (pissed or upset) and have every right to be.

I guess for those of us who also want the world to know about a BAD GUY forever should start their our own Reptile forum and POST our own PISSED OFF STICKY lol, ahh the benefits of owning the site I guess.

Don't take it personal Rich, I guess I would do the same thing but probably let it drop off into the BOI like all us peasants have to do at some point or another. ;)

Just for the record, there is absolutely nothing at all stopping anyone else from creating a similar banner ad on FaunaAds.com and doing the same exact thing if they have a mind to about someone else they have had bad dealings with. Of course, any such ad displaying blatant bad taste or profanity would have to be removed. But in all other cases, there would be no reason for me to remove such a banner. That is a big benefit of the ad server front here being a self service process.

Luis obviously has no intention of paying me the money he owes me. So no sense in getting yourself in trouble with the law....

Yeah, I just forgot to switch IDs when I posted that last message.

The reason I use dual logons is that I *try* to keep a dividing line between actions and comments that are appropriate for the admin of this site, and those comments that are more appropriate being made as just a regular member here. Sometimes I do flub it, but that is my intention....
