• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

make them disappear

thanks for anwsering my last post. but how do i delete my questions once i'm happy with my replies? please help.

Why do you need to delete them? It may be helpful to leave the posts up, in case others have the same question, they can do a search and find an answer without having to wait. :)

That said.....I guess I'm not sure, but I would assume that you could just hit the "edit" button in the lower right hand corner of your original post, though I know it won't work in all forums.....I've never had reason to delete post before, so I'm not 100% certain.

At one time in the past, I actually had a member here who in a fit of pettiness (in my opinion) decided to go through the entire forum and edit out everything in all of their posts. Fortunately I put a stop to that before he got to very many of them. He could not delete the post itself, so he would just go and remove all the text in the post. I'm sure you can imagine how that would screw up the continuity of a thread and just create something of a problem here. If that sort of thing happens again, then quite likely edits would go away for everyone to end that practice.

This site was set up to be a publicly accessible information resource. That means that the posts made should remain as a resource for other people to utilize. If someone wants to ask questions then delete them afterwards, perhaps choosing someone and emailing them privately would be more appropriate.

Or....

Or you could ask questions in the reptile chat andnot have to worry about them being saved there. there is almost always experienced people on the chat who will be glad to answer a question or two.
