This snake was a rescue, and the rehoming fee of $85 mostly recoups my costs.
About The Snake: He is a male banded ball python. (the banded morph isn't exceptional, it just means he has bands going across his back connecting the markings on his sides. His eyes are absolutely incredible for a ball python as well.) I call him ShyGuy, because he is incredibly shy. He is approximately 3'2" long, but is incredibly thin. He is supposedly about a year old. It took me nearly a month to get him to eat live hoppers, although he should be eating small rats. My vet gave him a look over and he appears to be in good health as long as he keeps eating.
His Story/Situation:This snake was the victim of a game of "hot-potato" amongst a bunch of inexperienced kids. He finally came into my possession, with nothing. I got him mostly setup, I'm just on a very limited budget and with mouths of my own to feed, I did the best I could. I'm not comfortable leaving mice with him and due to my situation (getting kicked out if he's discovered at my house), I can't spend much time with him actually out and trying to get him to eat larger prey. I won't do any shipping, because I can't keep him until Spring/Summer. If you make your own arrangements to keep him somewhere else locally, by all means, fine. He needs to get out of my possession, ASAP.
His Current SetUp:The snake will come with the setup I have so far: a large rubbermaid bin. The lid has been customized with plastic-coated screening to keep humidity in, and has two regular-screening windows for ventilation and light/heat access. I have him on coconut fiber bedding, clamp lamp with night-heat and day-heat bulbs, ceramic water bowl, 1 plastic hide, 1 half-log hide. A little plastic "carrying" shoebox, which has a tupperware water dish. If desired, I can give you a gallon of spring water, a small bottle of Reptile Relief, and about a half-full bottle of Shed Aid. I can also give you my microwavable heat pad, which is what I've been using to keep him warm as I just didn't have the funds for a proper heat pad. Having said that, he still needs the following:
*Under tank heat pad or heat tape*a thermometer/hygrometer.*2 Clamps to secure the lid (needed for when he gets bigger/stronger)*
Depending on your style of keeping, you may or may not need to invest in ReptiSafe and Wipe Out 1.
I'm not too familiar with this forum and notification methods, but I'll try to check this ad daily. I prefer to be emailed directly: liz.lovely(at)live.com
