    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Something I think I will never know for sure again. Heres the story. I purchased a hatchling butter female that probed as a female for the breeder. When she came to me I popped her and yep no hemi's so I grow this girl up in 2 years to be over 1600grams. She stopped eatting for the last breeding season. So I decide to put her in with a 900gram male pin. Within minutes, the pin is going crazy trying to get out. I open the tub and he comes flying out like a snake in a can. He looked terrified. That didnt go well so I decide to put my proven male pastel thats 1400grams with her. It wasnt 2 minutes and the pastel was slamming her against the tub and trying to neck wrestle her...My pastel says its a male...so I get the butter out again and pop her..no hemi's grrr. I call her breeder and send her back the next day. He probes her again and probes as a female....so he places her with a male thats breeding and the fight is on again...sooo he takes her to the university nearby and they do an ultrasound...damn it if this snake isnt a boy...he was born with impacted hemi's and would probly eventually die without a 300 dollar surgery. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I am new to the ball world and this breeding thing is getting dicouraging.

I have never heard of it, but something like that may explain a situation I had with a female boa years ago...
Ummm...has the seller offered you any kind of deal in exchange for a true female that you paid for 2 yrs ago? I would think it might not be out of the way to check into that. (Possibly a proven breeder female?)
Don't let it discourage you. If you are keeping it, what are the odds on the time frame this snake would have without the surgery? Is the snake in good health now?
HAVE YOU GOTTEN A SECOND OPINION?
I hope you already have a good & reliable reptile vet.

This snake has been donated to a university for research. The breeder did offer a couple replacement snakes. He was a very healthy snake at 1600grams and only a year and a half old. They said he might not live another year since the area where the hemi's were was hard and black.

Wow...are you going to keep up with what's going on with it? Might be interesting to post future findings for those of us that have inquiring minds!
