This is something I should have registered to do long ago. After a few really bad deals, todays set me over the top. Now here I am.
I will make this simple and short. Here is the link to an auction I was determined to win these 11 leos. I was bidding on and outbidding people for 2 weeks now and won. http://www.reptileauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=1395

The first email I sent him is missing. I said something to the effect of "Ya I won!!!!! where do I mail payment to or do you accept paypal?"
Then I fixed up two complete terrariums. I even went out and had to buy more heating and accessories for their arrival. In all I spent another $300.00 in set up. I can take pictures if needed.
Then tonight I finally get my first response from him. All emails will be posted below in order. To sum it up he said hey I sold those and I am sending you something totally different. Not even the same morphs. To top it all off not even a sorry!Then he continues further to be disrespectful and call me names.
You will find the emails to be self explanatory as to why I think he is a bad guy and why I do not recommend him to anyone ever! To him it's all about $. He feels justified in offering me what he considers more valuable animals. I don't care about the cost of them. I do not breed, sell, collect, or even like the ones he said he is giving me. If those are what I had wanted I would have bid on those types in a different action.I don't want them.
He mentions it was only $450.00 shipped but I won the auction for $500.00 according to my login at reptileauctions. He was emailing me back in seconds, now since the last email I sent there has been no response.

You sold the ones that where up for auction? What ???? How can you do that? What were you thinking? As the terms state if you list an actual animal you have to sell that actual animal.
I did not bid on these animals you are now offering me, nor do I need them for my colonies. Everyone does not just breed anything. I don't care what they are worth! What gives you the right. Once you listed them you should never have sold them till the auction was over. Or you take the auction down before people bid if you change your mind. I am going to report this to the owner. Consider your reputation ruined before it ever even started. The nerve you have.
This is ridiculous, and hands down the worst experience I have ever faced in all our years of breeding and buying!

talk about an over-reaction
the admins where emailed when they where sold, they did not take the auction down, i was not even aware it was still up, like i said, i posted on the auction that they where sold, i was not aware that them being sold before the auction ended was against the TOS, there where no bids at the time

there is no need to have a hissy fit, i offered better animals, the mature thing do was say " thanks, but i am not interested"

you still get everything except the stripes, and the other 3, plus 4 more that where not going to be sold, you should consider it the deal of a lifetime 450$ shipped for 1500$ worth of geckos from the best bloodlines out there

You are out of your mind. I don’t even breed or sell those types. What would I do with them? Once something is offered for auction you don’t sell it somewhere else. That is just plain bad business. I never let people buy the auctions I have up when they call, come over, or whatever you did.
YOU have the responsibility to take it down not the webmaster. I take mine down on my own all the time.
OVERREACTION? How would you feel if you were bidding on all those animals for 2 weeks, outbiddig every day just to find out you cant really have them.
A total waste of my time.
I am taking you and your practices to Fauna boards right after I report you.. Good Day!

All of your emails are documented. I do not appreciate you saying I am overreacting, calling me a child, and laughing in my face. What ever happened to customer service? Do you have any idea what that is?
I didn't sell lizards out from under you. Why are you being so disrespectful to me? You sold my animals. Then you offer me animals I don't even collect. What do you expect from me? You are a kid. Learn how to respect your elders. I see now that not only are you only in it for the $ but you misrepresent your animals.
I bid mainly at first because one is in need of a rescue. The fattest female you had posted..........the sides of her head are caved in . I am guessing due to calcium deficiency. Where is she? Dead now? I can't imagine anyone in person would have picked to buy her in that condition.
Everyone knows my mother and I provide for and care for animals all as if they where are only pet. Our children.
I imagine you raise them all in shoe box racks and deprive them of love. Maybe you are right, thank god, I bet they would have dropped their tails the first time I tried to love on one or they saw their fist succulent.

I did see that right after I made my first post. Actually I made a post on that thread. The same pictures of leos they are talking about in that thread are the same leos he emailed me the pictures of claiming to be worth $1500.00. Wonder how they were supposed to go to two people at once.
He can't seem to pawn those poor leos off on anyone.... I feel bad for the Leos.
I have made a new committment now to check here before ever bidding again. In this case it would have done me no good because he disguiesed who he is by making up a brand new account and name. Which had 0 feedback. And the new sytem shows no contact info on anyone. No names, no emails.
Now he already ruined that account. It is suspended already! If it ever unsuspends, believe me I will be there with bells on to leave bad feedback about that transaction. Something I have never had to do.

Thank You Griz. I did notify the reptileauctions of the "abuse".But I know he sometimes takes a long time to get back to me when there is glitches in my account, so your contacting will also help insure it is not looked over.
I still cant believe he said he didn't know selling them was against TOS, and that he emailed the webmaster to take the auction down when he sold them. You have to do it yourself. But, if there are bids already the option isn't available. I have a feeling there was bids, so he didn't see the option

Last time I checked by winning an auction (whether it be eBay or other) it is a contract made by the seller and buyer. Talk about children, he really needs to get out of this hobby. Maybe he can start scamming people with his little fishies.

Does anyone know why Dan has decided to do the absolutely stupid things he has been doing? He used to have a good reputation and did business on the square...now he is just another piece of crap in this hobby.
Sorry you had this experience. He seems to be showing a pattern here, unfortunately.

It really is bad he has turned on people, right now he has such a grudge that will not change until his peers start speaking well of him again. As sad as that sounds, look at the people that made a bad decision once and turned into the worse kind to deal with.

For example; Precision Caging-made a bad decision and lost a lot of reputation, now has a hard time selling and the least bit of negative criticism and he now takes it so personally that he ends up throwing a tantrum. Bill Leverton-made one mistake that cost him his reputation, he was so bad that no one could stand him, now he works hard to regain the reputation he lost, to him I give a thumbs up. Adam of Millennium Morphs, refused to ship a snake or give a refund because of his TOS, now no one is sure if they can trust him, in return he is quick to fight those that do the same to him. Charles Schuck-do not need to go there, we all can understand that one(figuratively speaking).

Those are just a few, but at one time, they all seemed reputable and they ruined everything they had going, so they just sit back, cross their arms and refuse to be the type of person their dog thinks they are. Until Dan stops pounding their fists and start doing things right, his peers will not speak highly of him.

Dan needs to grow up and learn what it is to be- a man, a caring reptile breeder, and a true "Christian" person(aren't you supposed to be true, honest, good, caring and all that- not rip people off or is it because he throws God into his emails it is okay in his mind?) ....His throwing in that he is Christian and God this and God that really irritates me....it irritates me whenever anyone does it as he is....He has no clue what any of the above things are, nor how to be one....but hides behind it to make himself feel righteous....
Just another bad apple in this hobby. Now he is on to fish and he'll start ripping the fish folk off next....It is a shame because at one time he had nice looking Leos and seemed to be on track to making a name ( a good one) for himself.

I also find it despicable when people choose to hide behind their religion - "I'm a good Christian, blah blah blah". I really don't care WHAT religion you choose to believe in, I think pretty much all of them have some basic belief that to be a good person, you should treat others as you would like to be treated. I doubt DAN would like it if he bid on specific animals just to be told he would be sent something completely different.

Not to mention he doesn't even use a capital "G" when referring to God.

I really don't care WHAT religion you choose to believe in, I think pretty much all of them have some basic belief that to be a good person, you should treat others as you would like to be treated.

Isn't that the "Golden Rule" we were taught as children when learning right from wrong, religion or not? If you take a look at the other Bad-Guy thread about Dan and read his mother's posts, it is easy to see where his so-called values came from.

Unlike the other examples cited of good people gone bad, I like to think there may be some hope for Dan. He is still young, and while that doesn't make him any less responsible for his actions, let us not forget the kind of pressure parents can still exert when you're financially dependent on them. I personally saw one of my buddies go through a bad deal with another young member of this community. Basically the kid wasn't the one paying for the crickets or the shipping, so he really had no power to argue when his parents stepped in.

All of this occurred off of the Fauna record, but my point is people can make dumb mistakes at a young age. I see more potential for Dan to make a comeback than breeders making dumb mistakes at the prime of their career, such as Adam at Millenium Morphs, Bill Leverton, and Charles Schuck.

We can scoff at Dan's misuse of the word God, but forgiveness is one of the fundamental tenets of Christianity.

As HE stated it was just an auction.....not like a real sale at all. He offered me more totally different but more valuable lizards instead. To him he sees no wrong in that.

Well I'm not Christian nor do I claim to be so I'm short on forgiveness for people like Dan, and that doesn't bother me at all. I don't see any hope for him. Yes he has his whole life ahead of him but he seems to be like his mother in his actions and beliefs...we are a product of our parents and how we are raised...so I only see him getting worse...I don't doubt he'll be living with his parents till he is in his 30s....
I just feel sorry for those he rips off and those sick looking Leos he has....
