In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I didnt even make it past page 5 of this thread, but Manny, I just want you to know that that post right there(quoted above) made my months of stalking your beautiful boas on your site in my excitement of buying from you, a new breeder to me, COMPLETELY worthless. You are one of the most immature people I have ever seen, and I dont even care which one of you two on this thread is right!

I will now never consider buying from you even though your animals are pretty and look healthy. There are so many more reputable polite breeders in the sea.

Thanks OP for this thread, because now I have seen what his character is like through his own posts and words.

This is how I felt after I read this thread about PP: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358234&highlight=manny

For me, it isn't just the quality of their animals, it is also the sellers behavior that I look at.

Well Alyssa you should keep reading. I am sure you will find his photo shopped pictures very interesting.

There's no real evidence his photos are Photoshopped, I tried pointing that out before.

There is evidence that the red tint on most of the photos is part of one of the camera's auto functions and a filter in Photoshop that it is set up to automatically use. This does not mean there is no intent for manipulation in how the photos have been taken, it is likely just not someone sitting in Photoshop manipulating things.

I finally had time to read the whole thread from start to finish. Jendee, I'm so happy you got your boa back! He's a pretty boy. I hate to say this, but I have to wonder if you ever would have gotten him back without this BOI thread.

There are filter settings in Photoshop, but any reputable breeder would see that the colors weren't right in the photo, and either edit it to FIX it like another mentioned, take a new picture, or remove the auto setting in the program. I've edited photos in GIMP (the free version of photoshop) to fix incorrect colors when I just cant get good lighting to retake the photos (I have a crappy camera), but even then I always mention when posting the photos that they were edited to correct color differences.

Thank goodness for this thread. My wife has been hounding me to buy 1.1 Sunglows and I was stalking Manny's webpage just as you were, SapphireTigress.

I feel like I dodged a bullet.

+1 for BOI

Here's a female K. Albino I got from Manny 2 years ago. This photo is a few months old but its the most recent one I have of her on hand.

I feel that I am morally obligated to update this thread.

The boa constrictor that I got from Manny that had a red-tinted photograph has grown into a beautiful animal. I feel that I've gotten more than my money's worth in this purchase, and that even had I paid full price for him it would have been a good purchase.

I do not stand to gain anything from posting this, and indeed I will probably lose some credibility with folks that don't like Perfect Predators.

Yes, I probably will purchase from Manny in the future. No, I do not expect to receive any special discounts or deals when I do. I am doing this purely because I am so happy with my snake, and feel that other people will probably also be happy with their purchases from him. And I feel it would be dishonest to leave the thread with the impression that I got a raw deal.

Yes, he should work on color-correcting his photographs to get rid of the red tint. Despite that, I feel that he is selling quality animals. He also did return the boa that he had taken on a breeding loan, and while I feel he could have handled that situation better, in the end I don't feel justified in referring to him as a bad guy.

Here are some pictures of the boa constrictor in question. All of mine were taken in natural light without flash. The first is from the Perfect Predators ad. The second is immediately after unboxing him. The third and fourth were taken yesterday. Viewers can decide for themselves, but I personally am pleased with my purchase.

I'll admit I was a skeptic as well of Perfect Predators but since opening a facebook not long after this thread was started I've seen a ton of very happy people with some extremely pretty snakes from Manny. There may be some defects in his picture taking abilities but overall I have changed my mind from seeing all the beautiful boas being posted and reproduced from animals that came from him. Earlier in this thread I swayed away and was even a critic of his but now I'm seeing there are two sides to everything. He just didn't handle himself well when he lost control like he did in this thread, but I'm of the belief now he has sold very nice boas to many happy customers, at least on facebook anyway. He doesn't post at all in forums so FB is where I have been able to gauge his stock.

The lack of basic communication skills has more of an impact on my judgement than any part of the "story." This was painful to read. Pointing out that he has nice quality animals should not be the ending to this thread. Manny has made some terrible remarks in this thread. Regardless of whether or not he is a criminal, I would not do business with him for the remarks alone.

I just don't know anymore. I've always had mixed feelings about this thread, and with the new situation that has showed up, I'm leaning more to the side of not recommending him or doing business with him again.

His snakes all seem healthy and good quality, but that doesn't do you much good if he delays shipping them and doesn't answer your phone calls or emails.

Customer service is lacking, communication is lacking. I should leave the rest of my comments for the other thread.

Ok first let's all remember the charges are alleged.

That being said.. The Broward Sheriff Office and Florida Office of Financial Regulation probably don't make frivolous arrests after a "months long investigation"

I live in Miami and have met Manny at several local reptile shows over the past few years and he was at times polite and friendly, willing to talk boa genetics and other times he has had an "elitist" attitude. This is, in my opinion one of the biggest opportunities for our hobby, we all need to be more welcoming to people new to, or interested in the hobby. This will not only help our hobby grow but also helps in our legislative battles we have in many states. We all were at some point new to the hobby and someone helped you get started.

Manny is almost always on the cutting edge of the boa market.. his prices also reflect that (I've always wanted, but never have been able to afford, one of his nicer boas ) the PP VPI Aztecs/Hytecs are really nice and the raptors are cool. We have tried to hash out a price on a few snakes in the past but I haven't pulled the trigger.

No one likes to think about their parents or grandparents being taken advantage of by some sleazy conman. Using the elderly for personal gain is reprehensible on even basic human principals.

After reading some stuff on other sites about ppl dealing with him and having a bad experience, also reading some of his responses and his over all demeanor, it's off putting to say the least and he could do himself a favor by taking a different approach to his customer service and reputation in the online arena. He is know to be a part of several deals gone south for reasons including bounced checks and breeder loans gone bad. All the signs point to the old saying if it looks like a duck and it quacks...

It's sad to see another ANOTHER highly recognizable member of our hobby in some BIG TIME legal issues.

I wish Manny and his family the best as they go through this undoubtedly difficult time.

You wish him luck? I wish him a hard time in the pen, If he robbed the old folks,or anyone for that fact. I feel for his family, only if they were unaware of his crooked dealings. If he built his company with hard earned money, good for him. But for some reason I don't think the $ were all legal.
I have no sympathy for him,he deserves all he gets. If this crime is true. And I believe it is.

I try not to have ill will towards anyone, or wish bad upon them. Somehow things usually come full circle and people get what's coming to them, good or bad.
