In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Im immature? compared to all these people who keep trying to mess with me for no reason? I believe an immature kid would be someone who doesnt go to college! someone who still needs their parents to survive. Im not immature at all. I've been on my own pretty much since i was 16 years old. Im much more mature than most of the 20 year olds i know. i can't laugh because i find some of them amusing? They really are because anyone who has time to start picking at straws trying to find something to argue about is VERY immature. At least im doing something so I can be successful and not have to sell reptiles for the rest of my life.

This post just confirmed your immaturity. Whether someone goes to college or not has little to do with anything. Comparing yourself to most 20 year olds is another sign, as you don't find too many grown ups saying, "I'm more mature than most 30 or 40 something I know". And implying that selling reptiles is contingent on one's NOT being successful is a ridiculous statement to say the least, and on a more serious level, insulting to those who have made a career or nice little side job out of working with the animals they love.

I'd have to say that I too, believe Marina. Some young men (and women) can be very immature during a break-up and I believe he did exactly what she is saying he did.

Badgering her about how much love is 'worth' really isn't adding anything constructive to this thread other than making her defensive. I would be defensive myself if I were in her position.

Marina, perhaps getting a written "go ahead" from your ex to sell her would be the best thing for you to do in this situation.

thank you. at least someone can see this from my point of view. I would looovveee to get a written okay from him. if that will get these people to leave me alone. how should i get it done?

Personally, I'd send him an email stating that you do not want her. Let him know that if he does not pick her up (may want to look up time limitations on abandoned property in your state), that you plan on finding her a new home.

depending on how the breakup went and both of your attitudes towards one another, will determine a written okie dokie to sell that snake.

you guys both obtained said snake when you were together, no matter who "paid" for it and who received it as theirs, he bailed and left the animal. i dont know any court that would overturn you selling said property (snake), even if the ex by some miracle wanna spend the money to persue this with the courts to get the snake or whatever he would wanna do

. if that will get these people to leave me alone. how should i get it done?

On another note, please try to understand that the majority of the people here work very hard to keep scammers (too many out there) out of the reptile business. If they seem harsh, it's for a reason and please try not to take it personally. They may just be the very people who are here to help you when/if you ever run into a problem as well :)

Its always said that people under the age of 25 are immature. So this has nothing to do with anyone over that age. But i believe that if you are left on your own to make it at a young age (which i was) then you mature much faster than someone who still has their parents to take care of them. I wasn't insulting anyone about selling reptiles as a career. Sorry I just read it again and it did come out wrong. But i was talking about myself not being able to be successful in the reptile industry. Everything i post sells but im just not one that can be successful with it. I know their are successful people who make money selling reptiles and thats good but I can't do it.

if i was in a brake up, and had left some animals, i would "appreciate" an email or written letter stating "your" property is still here, if you want it, you have "x" days to come and get it, if not, i do not wish to keep it, i will be selling/trading/giving (however you wanna handle it) away.

make sure you keep that email just in case for a reasonable time frame

This thread has gotten pretty out of hand and straying far off topic. First people talked bad when she concidered raising the price after being told to do so. Then when she said she would keep it at a low price because she didn't care she then got yelled at for selling it to low. She posted the invoice from the vet as asked. Its not unlikely that the snake was sold to them not knowing what its value is. It happens ALL the time. Ive purchased crested geckos locally from hobyists for $15-$50 and ended up having people try and offer me a few hundred for them. My main breeding project has come from a gecko that i paid $15 for and have been offered $250 for it. As well a friend of mine recently purchased what was sold as a normal bp that turned out to be a pastel. She ended the name calling quick and appologized for it now everyone is calling her names it doesn't make sense.

this whole mature card being played is worthless. everybody is different and matures at different ages and times, regardless of upbringing and such.

ive known many many people that got kicked out at age 16 or even younger and still havent matured and ive known people that mature very quickly and early even with the "ideal" family life and upbringing.

maturity is an interpretive notion to any given person.

my perception of maturity is gonna be different than joes, and joes will be different than marshas and so on and so on

i understand. Its just that this got blown out of proportion. It was a big mistake that can't be changed and now people are trying to find something wrong with me. I have never been accused of being a liar or a bad seller yet a lone a scammer. Im going to email him for the okay. He's already told me and my brother that he doesn't want anything back. I think its because he knows he sold all the stuff i left at his house. And as far as speaking terms go....i won't say what he did but let's just say if we see each other it won't be pretty.

If he said that in an email, you should be covered :)

Some people are straight up crazy here...

Mentioning that it is up to her to maintain the Blood market and to make sure a snake gets into the right buyers hands, yadda yadda yadda... It is a Blood Python that she knows nothing about and that she doesnt want... Are you serious? This one snake sold for under market value is going to turn off 50 buyers? Any proof?

Lucille,
Are you trying to be ignorant? Cut and pasting bits and peices... Acting like you dont know how hard it can be for a college student to come up with a thousand dollars? Are you even kidding questioning her about love and money associated with it... Her break-up? Because I can clearly see where $250 would be an acceptable gift to a hard working student, but $1,000 might seem way out of line! To even have to explain that to you is crazy... What world are you from? Should she finance a car and give it to her boyfriend? Money is all the same in the name of love! Right? Amazing!!!!!!:ack2:

Maybe she is a scammer... Maybe someone is going to come out and say she stole the snake... But right now... The op saw the vet invoice and was satisfied. The op asked her to start a auction. The op is satisfied. Some of the rest is just crazy!

i dont see scammer. scammers and trully bad people usually dont keep posting here and trying to defend themselves, they usually just fade away and stay far from posting on the boi anymore (hoping it will just blow over)

scammers also avoid questions and change the subject. She has answered every question head on and has been more than willing to provide proof. She didn't want to share personal information with everyone that was on the invoice so she sent it to the OP. I dont think the OP would lie about it. People weren't satisfied so she posted it here now that isn't enough. But in the spirit of the boi we should be giving the benifit of the doubt for people willing to prove themselves and save the attacking for someone who has been proven guilty.

Wow! This thread has gone crazy in the last few hours. I'd like to add another twist/ potential issue:

Marina, you said that the receipt said 'multi-discount' because you took in more than one animal. On the receipt, you were not given a $25 credit, you were CHARGED $25.

I think when someone was typing that into the excel receipt program they forgot to write a "-" or a "()" with the $25.00. Net result is, you apparently overpaid by $50, no?

:iagree: Questioning her love life???. She posted a vet bill and is accused of it being other animals??? Give me a break. I think no matter how far she goes to prove her side she will be nit picked. And honestly now that she knows the value of the animal and is less likely to be taken advantage of, (should have known something was weird when offered $300 for it sick or not) The auction sounds like a fine idea to me once it is 100% healthy.

I believe after she made sale, Some one let her know the value of the animal. Instead of letting buyer know this she first said animal bit her and she couldn't sell because she listed it as tame. When buyer said that's ok, then it became a respiratory infection.

She should have told buyer, Hey I just found out it's worth more, can we work something out.

Lucille stop trying to browbeat her into saying something you can use against her. Seriously. First you think giving $1000 is crazy, when she tells you it was $250, you start harping that she should have given $1000? With not one lick of proof you've decided she doesn't own the snake, doesn't have a ex-bf, must be lying about =everything= even after she posted a vet reciept, you decide it doesn't have the snake by description on it? Even when it says multiple animals and has the baytril listed(which is what a vet would prescribe for a RI in a snake).

Give it up. Seriously.

People said she was wrong to ask only $170, then when she said maybe she should put it up as a auction(as the OP suggested to her) then it's that she wants more money, then she said she'd put it up for the same $170 and it's that she's selling it too low to be reasonable! What kind of deal is that? She can't sell it for the original price, can't sell it for more...?

She said she doesn't know about the snake. She obviously didn't know it was a $1000 snake, because she listed it for $170. I wouldn't know a $1000 cornsnake from a $10 cornsnake, EVEN IF I LOOKED AT ADS. THe difference between a "ultra-briet" blood and a common blood might look extreme to me or to anyone into bloods. It's NOT that different to the average person.

The vet invoices, what I am given when I take a critter in, show the info on me, the info on what I was charged for and that's it. With multiple animals, they rarely list them each out. Perhaps some people's vets list every bit of info on the paper with all notes and diagnosis... I have yet to ever see that handed over when you pay for a couple minor things. She was asked to post the invoice, which is dated the time that she said prior that she took the snake in.

Snake(pythons) can show little sign of an RI and when the vet looks, the snake needs baytril. How many people in here can say(and hey, can prove with paperwork written out int he vet's handwriting on the correct letterhead.. since we like proof) that a vet examined a python showing a RI and did not prescribe anything to treat it? Just sent a REPTILE WITH A RI home untreated?

Since people like proof, show some proof. She still has the python, so she hasn't gotten an offer for more or she'd have taken it, right? She took it to the vet, and showed the receipt she was asked for, right? She's said she would sell it for the original price, right?

So what exactly has she done wrong? I didn't see her showing attitude until certain people on the thread started browbeating her and claiming that nothing she did was right.... even when she offered to do what people suggested. Harping about whether it's "right" to give your bf $250 vs $1000 is ridiculous!

If the ownership of the python is in question(which as abandoned property it should be a moot point anyway), then she can get her bf to respond to an email saying "I'm going to sell this blood python, or you can come get it". But what if he chooses not to respond? What would everyone have her do THEN?

When something is suspicious, it's one thing to ask questions, it's another to get all the answers you've asked for and continue to make up stories and veer off topic wildly just to see if you can get a rise out of someone.

Just to solve this whole invoice issue ...

Three different invoices from three different veterinarian clinics for domestic and exotic animals.

None of them have diagnosis on them. Just a listing of services rendered and the payments due.
