    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sold this guy a monitor, came off really nice and was trying to help him out so I shipped before receiving payment. The first "installment" was 4 weeks late and it has been almost 10 weeks. He will not return Emails or phone calls, and just will not contact me to finish the deal. :shrug01:

Stay away. He is trying to start, a all herp zoo, and will not follow through on what he says. He was going to pay me everything up front originally but everything kept changing with payments. thought I could trust him, but I was clearly wrong :(

Half-Right Anyway

Hi,
My name is Mark Jukes and I am the owner of the Reptile Realm herpetarrium, opening this Spring in Jamestown NY.
Mr. Kubeck is HALF right, when he says that I sent him half of the payment, which was $100 of $200. I believe he may be mistaken about some times and dates, but I do still owe him $100. Had he not insisted on sending the lizard before payment, I would have probably just lost out on her. I had some tough times hit right around August, and felt I wanted to send him at least half. Time has got away from me, but not the fact that I owe him the rest. I am sorry to lose him as a potential friend, but he is right, for the most part. He may also be mistaken about contacting me, as we are friends on FaceBook, where yesterday he posted a rather terse message about his money. I was also unaware of this post, and have been receiving PM's from other friends, making me aware of it. My family and I are still overcoming some serious obstacles that hit us these past few months, but I fully intend to square up with Josh by this weekend. First of the week, latest. For the record, he WAS offered a free lifetime membership to The Realm in lieu of the original $200, and he didn't even respond. While another Josh, donated a 2ft Blue Tail Monitor the same day. From this very site. The family membership was a no-brain-er, but at least he appreciated its value. You can see for yourself what I'm about over at

If you don't have $100 to pay for the monitor, how the hell are you opening your own "herptarrium?" And being offered a free lifetime membership to something that doesn't exist yet, and may very well never exist due to lack of funds on your part, is a laugh and a half. Maybe he can use the membership to come visit the monitor you never paid for.

I think that's a bit harsh and uncalled for. Often animals are pushed on buyers before payment is received because the seller has no other option but to let them go and this could have easily been the case. I am glad you were fortunate enough to see this contract before anyone else. Problems arise for some people and I wouldn't consider that a "laugh and a half" without further details.

Right now I see the seller saying he was being nice and tried to help the buyer out. The buyer says the seller insisted on sending the lizard.

Two things are required at this point for me to make a logical decision. First being the initial deal that was laid out, payment plans, and who insisted on where the lizard should go. Secondly, emails, correspondence and/or PM's would greatly support someones story here.
 
I agree, and anymore input may not even be needed or warranted. The purchaser owned up to his mistake, took responsibility and said he’s going to make it right. They may not ever be doing a transaction with each other again but hopefully it will be resolved with no more needed from external parties. I hope for the best between you two.
 
Well thanks for that "Elana" whoeveryouare/aren't, but had he not INSISTED on sending her before payment, as I stated, I likely would have simply lost out on another herp. Happens ALL THE TIME. And 6,500+ people can't all be wrong, and that is the average amount of fans/friends Reptile realm on FaceBook has. They include Mark O'Shea, Corey Wild, Gus Onebear, Jay Brewer...
When I began the project one year ago, i had many offers to help and invest. NONE came through, so I was forced to do it by myself with only my family, which is all I have ever needed. Want me to post "proof" of certain events/ How about my MOM's OBIT, or the bill for our new gas furnace, when the original blew last month??? These are two very debilitating events, but guess what? I'M STILL HERE. A facility that does not exist yet? What do you know about Jamestown NY? Or the fact that my entire town is gearing up for our first and only zoo? I sent Josh half, so he would not think I was blowing him off. I can post a scan of the first MO, which clearly states ONE OF TWO. Since his posting of this yesterday, Reptile realm and myself have received a combined twenty-three (23!) NEW Friends/Fans, so by all means, keep attacking me. One thing I can do is defend myself. Oh, and One of the breeders who read, then informed me of this thread, HOOKED ME UP WITH A WHITE TIGER RETIC! Two Bearded Dragons and a 14ft Albino Burm also came my way, FREE. I have the support of local law enforcement, Animal Control and my Board vet is Dr. John Inkley of Randolph NY. Call him/them for any further references. So have at it. I won't be labeled as "one of those guys", and I'm NOT. Have a great all; i will be checking back, most likely to thank more people.

He sells plenty of Retics, BP's, Carballs, Spidercarballs and Burms. The Beardeds are from a local couple who had them fro their grandchildren. I can hook you up with the breeder if that's why you want to know. You can PM me on FB.

Yeah, that's it. You got it figured. Well, since it's a non-profit, educational facility, we do get the occasional free animal; but i only recently turned down an African Grey Parrot, and last summer, declined a Scarlett Mac Aw, because they are NOT reptiles. Why? You turn down free reptiles when they are offered? They're all over Craigslist...had $1,000's donated in dry-goods and reptile supplies. My garage is full of 55's (All free) Get over it, without these people, ...wait, why am I explaining my opinion of the boring, vapid yet inane comment of a complete stranger? Sorry. Good bye.
 
Nah. I told Josh he would be paid by the weekend GUS LOWE, who is the one who told me about this post, gave me a killer deal on the Tiger, and he knows I have to pay Josh FIRST, so I can pay for Gus' snake AFTER Josh and I square up. Boy, sure are a lot of know-it-all who want to judge someone about owing another person a hundred bucks. Oh, and there is no such thing as bad publicity, that's why the thread is still here. I can defend myself. Don't need to sue this site for SLANDER, LIBEL, OR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER. See, you complete strangers can think whatever you like. If you truly knew how much I despise my fellow humans, believe me, you wouldn't bother. But when a site hosts inflammatory comments about Reptile Realm, which is indeed a business, ah, I'll save it for the next smart-alec. So who's next. And THANK YOU, all those who have come to the Reptile Realm page on FB and my personal page, Mark Jukes, on FB, where you may even notice Josh and I are still friends. Sooooooo...hopefully he will at least keep me as a FB friend, as he has every right to be mad at my severe lateness. I asked him to remove this, and like I deserve no less, said he would when I pay him. Next?
 
I'll be here all week folks. Surely some of you have better things to do? See, I like talking about current affairs, or learning a foreign language, the new Red Wings film, The Walking Dead, the only thing worse than everyone talking about you at once, is no one talking about you...at all. So spread the word; I sure seem to have enough defenders to back me up. "Bad Guy mark Jukes"....kinda like the sound of that.
 
Not really! kinda like the one where they send the animal, then OVER CHARGE (Rape) Me on the postage. happened TWICE, and guess what I paid them! Hit some hard times last Fall, but God-FORBID, things are finally looking-up!
