In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

maternal incubation [again]

I love that you let your girl take care of the eggs herself. I'm going to give it a try either this year or next year. You have me inspired. :D

We're on Day 46 now. Not much longer. :)

Candling on Day 46

VERY cool! & congrats on the clutch!

Can't wait til they start pipping! As the others have said, KUDOS to you for being brave enough to do the maternal incubation! lol ~

Thanks guys. :)

She finally decided she was hungry today. Sixth try is the charm, I guess. lol She ordinarily gets fed medium-large sized rats so I gave her a small. Hopefully the other girls don't take so long to get with the program.

amazing that she can eat while on all those eggs! I would guess in the wild she's just go without...unless something happened to wander by.

From my experience, they don't stay on their nests ALL the time. They do leave the nest to drink or soak in their water or to take food if I've left it for them on the opposite side of their enclosure or tub. I've read that in the wild they'll leave their nests and bask outside of their dens as well. Since they're ambush predators, I'm sure that they have ample opportunities to take at least a meal or two while they're on eggs in their dens. Some curious rodent is bound to come nosing about those termite mounds. ;)

I believe today makes Day 50

I've noticed the temp has gone up by a degree or two and I'm wondering if that has to do with the eggs getting ready to pip or if there is some other cause behind it? Up until this point, the temps in her tub have read 86-89 when I've checked in on her and the eggs. This morning, it's at 90.

Day 54

Her eggs are looking more and more like squished marshmallows. lol I wish they would hurry up and hatch!

I got a new video clip earlier tonight and I think the baby is laying belly up on the right side of the egg. You can see the pulsing of his/her umbilicus.

I wish these guys would hurry up and come out so I can see them all. The eggs have been sweating a bit and aren't adhered to one another so much anymore. Any day now. I need to find something to occupy my time so I stop irritating their mother three or four times a day.
