In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So a few months ago I bred my 2006 Graziani Line Pastel male...

To this very light female for some selective breeding in hopes to make some nice light pastels. :)

She's about to burst!

And we have eggs!

Quick View of them to quickly candle and verify the fertility...

All were 100% fertile with the exception of the obviouse slug... not bad though getting 4 good eggs out of a girl that weighed around 980g's just days before laying...

Well she's been a great lil' mom and temps have been pretty well controlled by her and a lil' dimmer/Rheostat.

you can see the temperature probe (outside heat) from the accurite nicely tucked right between those eggs and her!

AAA015.jpg

Temps were double checked via Tempgun as well...

Both Body temps of mom...

And of the eggs themselves...

And here she is as of today at Day 53

As you can see she's allowing those eggs to breathe more and the eggs are soft to the touch!

Love these eggs with windows! LIke peeking inside without having to make any cuts...

Should be any day now! :D

That's awesome congrats!!!

Thanks Nate!

Pretty excited... I had some things go down this year and wasn't able to really focus on pairing anything up and between the events and working 60hr's a week I wasn't expecting anything...

This was just a bonus! :)

Next season will be a little bit more involved.

Do you find it's easier to do it that way? Do you find less loss? Next year will be my first attempt and I like to see how everyone else does things.

I would think she's being awful tolerant of you taking her temp and placing the probe, what a sweety! The "window" brought a smile to my face, almost like she was "showing off"!
Thanks for the pics!

Thanks first and foremost to all who commented...

Honestly this is my second year actually producing ball pythons after keeping them on and off since the 2nd grade. Last year I didn't have an incubator setup none the less even own one and had a clutch of 7 (pastel x normal) and let that mother incubate the eggs on her own... Her and the eggs did just fine and she ate without hesitation after the whole process...

This case has shown to be not too differen't except for the fact that she maternally incubated in a cb70 and not a 20gal tank lol.. :NoNo:

with the tank I had to mist and cover the top to keep humidity exactly where it needed to be... in this case I had the water bowl in the middle of the tub and the heat from the back of the tub had humidity perfectly where it needed to be... Everything has been perfect! By maternally incubating in the tub it's pretty much set it and forget it... egg temps have been consistantly kept between 88-90F degrees maintained by mom and ambient temps have been around 86-88.5 with an average of 88%+ humidity.

The reason I chose to do a maternal incubation the first go around was after reading an incredible article that Bob Clark wrote in REPTILES magazine... I can't remember exactly which issue but the cover is
"Hatching Pythons..." I was even lucky enough to talk to him in person about it in Daytona 07' and it was just cool talking to him about the subject. Much thanks to Bob Clark for writting such a good article and Bob if you read this it was really cool talking about it with you in person.

I can't really describe how beautiful it is seeing a mother python on her eggs... it's really an amazing sight! I'm not saying that I'm going to maternally incubate every clutch but... it is something that I would encourage somebody to try atleast once...

Your experiences sound exciting! You have given me some things to think about and I may even have that copy of the magazine, I do remember reading the article.

Again, thanks for the pics! Gawd, I love this hobby! :D

Hey no problem Maggie!

I'm just enjoying the experience itself keeping, breeding and working with the animals I am. I know I love pictures alot myself and I thought it would be nice to post for others to see and reference... and If you have the magazine it's definitely worth the read!

The one time I tried it I had a 100% hatch rate and the female ate like crazy after incubation and produced again the next year. I think I might try it again next year if I can get my new rack dialed in well.

Dumb question, but do they try to eat you when you try to seporate them from their babies? Or do they just not care that the babies are in there? I have a couple of gals that I wouldn't bet on a winner if it came down to a fight! I think they think human blood is a condiment! :D

I wouldn't take a female off eggs to feed it...

We kept Ariel on her eggs until they started pipping... after we took her off and gave her a warm bath she was quick to eat 3 small rats immediately after!
