This post is about my experience with Matt Bruner of MB Reptiles when I purchased a hypo- pastel male bearded dragon from him last August. I apologize for the tardiness of my post as I would have responded to his post but I had an AOL account that must have had a block banned from this site and I had no access.
When I began talking to him about a male, he sent me a picture and we agreed he would hold the dragon for me for 4 or 5 days till I was paid on Friday and I would paypal the money. On Saturday I went to the library and tried to paypal as it was the only computer access I had at that point. It wouldn't go through and later I found out it was because of the filters they use I couldn't even load the site. I contacted him told him what was going on and he said I had till Monday at 4 to get him the money and I did. I recieved the dragon on Tuesday eve. When I looked at the lil guy he did have a kinda "glow" to him like Matt had said but didn't have as much prange as I thought the picture showed but was fairly nice nonetheless. I called him and left a message telling him it arrived and that it was pretty, blah blah... I also mentioned that it was a little small for it's age and was somewhat concerned about that. He had told me it was 4 months and when I recieved it it was 7.5". I called him the next day after not hearing from him and he said that he had checked birthiung records and it was only 3 months. I picked up a funny feelng from our whole conversation and really felt like he was lieing to me. I went to the library and looked at the pics of the dragon I was supposed to recieve and it was definately NOT the same dragon... not only was the one pictured more colorfull, the back pattern was similar but definately not the same. Everyone who has seen pics of the two says the same thing. NOT the same dragon. I went back home and called him and told him what had happened and he denied it to be possible. He said that he marked it when I had him hold it and moved it to another tank... That dragon shed 3 days after it arrived I believe and there was NO marks on the shed. He said that it was his policy to give 100% satisfaction and I could send the dragon back for a full refund. He said that he was going to the Daytona show and we agreed I'd call him to set up shipping after he returned.
That day I confronted him about getting the wrong dragon it also started showing signs that I had experienced when my colony became infected with Adeno Virus. I watched the dragon that week and the symptoms got worse and I believe on Friday or maybe Saturday I called him and left a message about my concerns as he was in Daytona selling dragons through a friend that was a vendor. I wanted to let him know so he wouldn't have to go through what I had been through with hyaving to contact everyone I had sold to and tell them I had just found out that my colony was infected with Adeno. That was a nightmare. But< MATT I NEVER TOLD YOU I KNOWINGLY SOLD INFECTED DRAGONS AS I NEVER DID! IN FACT i CONTACTED EVERYONE BUT ONE PERSON WHO'S CONTACT INFO I HAD LOST BUT I DID POST A MESSAGE ON REPTILE CLASSIFIEDS WHERE I HAD BEEN SELLING TO TRY TO REACH THEM! I WOULD NEVER KNOWINGLY OR MALICIOUSLY DO THAT TO ANYONE NOT EVEN A PERSON WHO HAS TRIED TO DRAG MY NAME INTO THE MUD BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE. tHEIR ARE SEVERAL RESPECTED PEOPLE IN THE BEARDIE COMMUNITY THAT COULD CORROBORATE THAT AS WELL. i'M NOT, HOWEVER, DRAGGING THEM INTO THIS. iF ANYONE HAS ANY DOUBTS I AM LIEING ABOUT COVERING IT UP GO TO KINGSNAKE BEARDIE FORUM AND ARCHIVE FOR brdfreak OR ADENO VIRUS YOU'LL SEE I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY PUBLIC ABOUT IT.
i CONTACTED mATT THE tUESDAY AFTER HE RETURNED HOME AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT TAKE THE BEARFIE BACK NOW AS IT WAS TO GREAT A RISK FOR HIM WITH THE ADENO... and then he said he ahd told me to ship the beardie Monday for teusday arrival and many other things we had discussed started changing as well. He also commented he would post that I had adeno virus and noone would ever buy from me again when I mentioned I was going to post on the BOI about this.
Bottom line is this guy knowingly sent me a dragon of lesser color that was a poor thriver and DID die 2 months later despite much effort on my part and only grew 1" during that period. I was lied to about the age, his policy of 100% satisfaction, that he would take the dragon back, and then I was almost drgu throught the mud by him telling lies about me in a public forum. All I wanted was a refund including shipping and to snd the dragon back. I understand that people make mistakes and could accidently ship the wrong dragon but he was telling me that pattern changes from shed to shed drastically... anyone who knows dragons knows that a pattern will not change completely in one shed... or 5 for that matter. He lied to me, posted lies about me publically, and stuck me with a sick dragon that died on me after sending me the wrong one in the first place... (I also find it odd that I recieved a lesser colored dragon three days before he was going to be in Daytona selling) another odd thing is that two weeks later he had a pair of dragons posted on reptibid and was offering picture ID for the het for later identification.... His story changes as quick as a dragons pattern was supposed to.
Sorry this is so long but I have really been upset about this for awhile now and just wanted to get everything off my chest and let everyone know that what he said about me is all lies and to be carefull with this guy because he is not what he appears to be. Anyone who would like to see the pictures of the dragon I recieved and the ORIGINAL email he sent me with the poics of the dragon I was supposed to get email me at [email protected] If you read the email and then check out his post about this you will also see that he is lieing about sending me a "likeness pic" to give me an idea... he plainly states that this is the dragon I will hold for you.
