Matt (himself) didn't breed them, but a friend of his did.... He swore to me up and down that he was telling me the truth.... I have no reason to doubt him.... I realize (in my ad) that I said that Matt produced them, but I'm going to leave it at that because he knows the breeder and lives very close to him....

If they ARE imports, they are the NICEST imports you will ever see!!....

Without proof that these are cb how can you sell them that way? Aren't there baby monitors available right now from some of the bigger importers?

Now, don't go getting all riled up. I'm not questioning your honesty or morals or integrity or ethics. None of that.

I'm just curious why you are stating in your ad that Matt produced these monitors when you know he didn't and why you are selling them as cb when you can't verify it.

So, just for clarification, all I am interested in knowing about is why you are not being honest about the origins of these monitors and why you are selling them as cb when you don't actually know they are.

Well guys.... the answer should ALSO be just as obvious.... he doesn't want (or need) the notoriety and wants to stay as low-key as possible.... Matt wouldn't even give ME his name, but, unlike you guys, I don't care.... "The proof is in the pudding" (so to speak).... as Matt said, If you don't believe they're CB, don't buy them??.... And the reason the price is so inexpensive, is (probably) because it's ALL pure profit, and it lets him get rid of everything QUICKLY so he doesn't have to care for them for too long....

There are a lot of people in this industry that do the same thing.... there are also people in this industry that won't give away their secrets to sexing certain types of animals, there is one very well-known person that KNOWS how to sex Meller's Chameleons, but, try to get him to tell you how??.... good luck.... He has spent years trying to figure it out, and when he was finally able to, why should he tell his secrets to anyone??.... I've asked him, and I basically get the cold shoulder, but, that's his right.... "Does Macy's tell Gimbels"??.... NO!!....

Notoriety is a big thing to some people.... they want no part of it.... I'm sure if this guy's name was mentioned, SOMEONE will be able to find his contact information and start bombarding him with unwanted questions.... all he wants is to breed his Monitors and be LEFT ALONE.... I have no problem abiding by his wishes.... why can't you??

Like I said, He is a very Humble person. He doesn't want "Credit" he just wants to make a good living as I do as well. I did not try to take credit for producing these and I told Neil that I did not produce them myself as well as anyone else who asked. I am not on here to hand out every connection that I have. If you don't believe it DON'T BUY THEM! The way that I make a living is producing the animals that I produce and selling other animals that I buy from the connections I have. I am not on here asking you for all of your connections. The bottom line is you don't have to buy them. I will be listing more CB monitors produced by myself and other people. I will have CB ackies and CB argus if all goes well soon. I did not put CB on my Beardeds Dragons, Crested Geckos, Veiled Chameleons, or Panthers Chameleons either. Sorry for the mistake. I do not list the items on my website myself. I do have a million things to do everyday, and do not have anymore time to waste on this subject. Neil, im sure you understand why people would question it.

His own site did NOT list them as cb, but on the SAME page he had animals listed as cb...Why not list them as Cb if they are truley Cb???

If they end up being the same sex they will be replaced -Correct?
How will he replace them. The "Breeder" who is giving the guarantee is someone you do not know or can verify.
So if this is all bogus will you be able to replace one with a cb of equal size as noted? If your a breeder you can offer that, but as a broker you really cannot unless you make it a money back guarantee.

I gotta say it looks fishy and you might want to revise your ad.

I guess the person who did the update on the page had time to list everything else with a Cb (even the frilly which I doubt is cb based on the pic used), with the exception of the 3 animals which are commonly imported. Baby Tegus, Baby Niles and Baby Mangroves.

Neil if your not gonna change the ad maybe you should get some pics of the parents.

You say you can SEE nothing in the fecals. That's all well and good but, have you had a fecal DONE as yet? My understanding is that there are some parasites TOO small to be seen by the naked eye.

Any fecal checks as yet on these little gems?

I do recall when we used to import reptiles that when we got baby mangroves and bluetails, and even dumerils on occasion they were ALL just like you describe these as being, perfect in every way, all toes and complete tail and tame too.

The timing is interesting too.

Hello everyone,

I brought this to neils attention to begin with. Had no idea others felt the same way as I do. I talked to Neil on the phone and he seemed like he was trying to do the right thing. I also see he revised his ad so can't complainabout that.

I still do find it odd about Matt's claims. When he had them posted I questioned him and so did a friend. I got a reply back saying no I did not produce them and sorry about the confusion in my ad I was talking about my stock. Now I took that as these are imports and not c.b. .

My friend who is well known in the monitor world, and lives in ca. and has been around is Mark Bayless. He got a not so nice of a message in reply.

Now I have talked to quite a number of people I know and noone knows of anyone breeding mangroves.

Matt will not tell us this guy's name but seems to tell us alot of other things. He is supposed to give this guy my name and number to contact me. But he mentioned many times in many ways that his friend is humble and doe snot like talking to people.
Now wether thats honesty or a way to hide his lie I don't know.

I guess if this hermit of a reptile expert calls me I might know, but then again anyone could call me and make claims. How could I prove them???

As for Matt saying why prove it? I sell animals and I would myself want to prove something, cause simply people will ask. To just tell them buy them if you want to is not accepted. I prefer to show them proof.

Matt has a thread on this site stating he is 24 so guess he was 9 when he met this breeder.

If this was not the time imports are coming in and all of this added up I would not even bother. But many people make claims of there monitors being c.b.b. and only a small number can prove it. It is very possable to have hatchling monitors look c.b. cause they have yet to go through any hardships. They are just out of the egg. So to go by looks to prove it is silly.

Jody.... I can certainly understand where you're coming from, but, you have to understand where I'm coming from, too.... Any of us in this business can only go by what the seller (or wholesaler) tells us.... who are we to say they are lieing??.... Most animals (whether cb or imported) and born at the same time.... Monitors, Chondros, Emmys, Ackies, Beardies, Balls, Boas, Burms, etc, etc.... Of course the imports will be here at the same time the cb's are, that's just nature at work....

Until it can be proven otherwise, I will ALWAYS go with the word of the person I get my animals from.... if THEY aren't sure, I say it, if they ARE sure, I say that, too.... I'm not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes....

As far as the fecals go, my buddy next door has a son who's really into biology, and he has a microscope.... I literally take a fecal sample over and *I* look at it through the microscope (as any Vet would).... if I see ANYTHING moving around, I take that animal straight to a REAL Vet for diagnosis and medication (if any is needed)....

I don't think I am doing anything wrong in the way I wrote this ad (or any ad of mine, for that matter).... If I am shown to be wrong, I ALWAYS change my ad to make it right....

So, in closing.... when Matt swears to me they are cb, then as far as I'm concerned, they ARE cb....

But come on man you have been at this long enough, how often do you see c.b.b. indo monitors???? How often are they available for the same price as the wild caughts????

Also I understand as you said imports can come in the sametime as c.b.. But that does not change the fact your talking about something that is rarely bred. Your telling me his claims of how he words things does not strike you as odd?

I mean would you believe I have ocean front property in arizona? and don't worry cause it is my friend that has it. He has been in the real estate business for 20 years. So you can trust me.

As for the fecals that doesnt mean anything, i have had imports come in loaded and come in with nothing. The chances of a hatchling coming in with a load of parasites is slim to none.

So again you can't go by that to make claims of it being truely c.b.b.

There will always be those that will play Devil's Advocate for no other reason then to start trouble (I'm NOT referring to you).... As you yourself said, there ARE some people that DO breed them, not many, but a few.... who am I to say that these aren't some of those very few??.... Just because the price isn't through the roof??.... That's really not a good enough reason for me, especially when I was GUARANTEED that they are cb.... I could understand if I bought them from Jesse Underhill, or his "type" of person.... but, I've never heard one bad thing ever said about Matt, and I go by that.... I put faith in people (maybe too much at times), but that's how I live MY life.... until they show me they can't be trusted, I will continue to trust them and their word.... what else can I say??....

FYI, you're not always going to see moving parasites while looking at feces under a microscope. Most vets do a fecal flotation where the feces is pushed to the bottom of a solution (fecasol) and the parasite eggs float to the top and attach to a slide.
(I used to work as a vet tech and have probably done a couple thousand fecals...mostly dogs and cats but some herps too). Some vets do direct fecal smears also but floats are the easiest way to find most common parasites.

You can do herp fecals on your friends microscope but for them to be effective you need to get some fecasol and fecal float kits. You can get them both online from several sources. I know lambriarvetsupply.com has them both.

I'm sorry...

but it's just not fair to those who out there busting their arse to breed these guys( or any other species). Building them room size enclosures, digging up tons of dirt to keep them active and thermoregulating, feeding them tons of food, constantly looking for perfect nesting so they don't become eggbound and do lay properly etc., etc. Not to mention you're lucky if the pairs dont end up killing their mate then eating them, and thats if youre lucky to have a pair, and if youre one of the few to get fertile eggs have fun incubating them for almost a year. I know people that have been trying their arse off to get a pair of mangroves, for over a year only to have 4 females they end up having to take care of . Good, extremely knowledgeable people too. Plus its a lie when you misrepresent an animal, and thats screwing it up for all those that work hard to sell good product.

As far as this recluse secretely breeding mangroves and a bunch of other species. I think its a load of crap. sorry to be so harsh, but regardless of this persons antisocial behavior a great digital camera goes for about 300 bucks, not much considering the investment( Neil your camera blows lol). It just sounds to me like a ready made excuse

Well you are right, I am 24. I also am very experienced with reptiles. I am not here to compete with all of you. The reason I say that If you don't like it don't buy it is because that is what I go by. If I see something that I am interested in, but there is something I don't like... I don't buy it. I did meet my friend when I was 9 years old. I actually helped him out whenever he would let me, even though at that age I was probably more of a pest than any help, but that is besides the point. He is the one that really started me into reptiles. I have many connections that give me great deals because I have been dealing with them for years. Also I don't question them when they say that they produced something. Like I said before I didn't list my CBB Bearded Dragons as being CB. I did not list my CB panthers as being CB and there was a bunch of imports that came in a month ago. I did not list my CBB Veileds as being CB, maybe I should have. I did not list my Cresteds as being CB, but maybe because if you are interested in something you can call me and ask. I am sure that there are more animals that I did not list as being CB on my site as well. I have a very simple site, not a lot or text. If you are really interested in the animal you will call. I am understanding why certain people don't want any internet contact... It sometimes isn't worth it.

comparing those to monitors is wrong. All those species have been bred time and time again. You can easily find a handful of people and then some that have produced them.

But monitors on the other hand are few and far between. The only ones you find readily as c.b.b are aussies, thats cause they are not imported so you have no choice or no other resources then c.b.b.. If you had put them up i would not of said a word.

I wouldn't of even questioned your frilleds.

But I do question your monitors as they are not an everyday item to find as c.b.b. Also it didn't make sense to me when a well known and respected person such as Mark bayless contacts you about them. You basically cut him off and slam the door in his face.

I know alot of other monitor breeders and keepers. From new to old. None of them seem to know of anyone producing indicus. So you see for me to see some pop up out of no place at first got me excited. casue i thought hey maybe i can learn something, and bout time. But your reply to both Mark and I left an awful taste in my mouth.

The way you word everything is far fetched, the animal being rarely bred, you not giving the persons name etc. makes it even harder to grasp.

Does your friend know Frank Retes perhaps? How about any of the other big name monitor people? certainly he is not a hermit living in the hills of Ca. with no electricity. Someone has to know him after all you do.

Also you claim he breeds high end pythons (but no morphs). You'd think with all these animals his name is out there someplace. Unless at 9 years old he was selling all of his stock to you to broker?

I saw it myself and a friend of mine contacted you to better educate you, and you did admit to them not being cb, claiming the unibomber a good friend of yours, bred them. That was good on you but you're still claiming you never did post them at cb, which is a lie and was then a misrepresentation.

A lot of people don't want their names out there because of all the theft of animals. I know that this is one of his reasons. He also does not let only but a handful of people come to his facility because of this. When Mark contacted me he basicly called me a liar before asking any questions. I think that this is all uncalled for and I am tired of defending myself about something that none of you are even interested in purchasing. I don't mind helping people, but not for anyone to turn around and try to ruin my reputation. Like I said before my friend does not need anymore buyers. The people that he sells to buy as many animals as they can and the people that buy from him know they are getting quality animals. He is already well established, and he doesn't want to get involved in "drama" if you will... like this. We are all adults here, lets act like it. I have blisters from typing about this so much. If you have anymore comments about this call me! I will be happy to answer what I can for you. This sort of thing makes people like him stay away from the interenet.
