In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Matt Shrimplin

Received the replacements.

Girl had a regenerated tail, but in great health.
The boy had a cut on his back (told about a "barely visible" cut) that was pretty big, looks slightly infected, but I have ointment for it, so it should be fine.
Other than that, they're extremely healthy, and have already eaten for me, being here only 6 hours.

I'm glad you got the replacements, Allee. It's a shame that he couldn't even send you decent replacement geckos. But i'm glad they're eating for you and they're in a good environment now.

Also, thank you for posting this thread. It's brought lots of information to light i'm sure most of us were totally unaware of.

And i'm still not sure why I can't edit my posts...
But I wanted to add...being in the leopard gecko community I know one person who's going on MY do not buy from/sell to list.

Oh come on. You receive a damaged/cut/infected gecko the first time around and then he seriously sends you replacements that aren't absolutely perfect? That just sounds ridiculous to me. Especially considering that is now 2 with infected cuts on their body. Not a very good way to show that you have good quality geckos.

Anyone want to see pictures?

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I asked for pictures before he'd send them the night before, and he told me he packed them up already, so I couldn't get pictures, then told me one of them has a small cut on it's back from.. oh here this is easier, quote from my PM from him. Lol. Makes it easier just to quote him. =]
"Hey Allee,
I just wanted to mention that the Mack Snow Albino Het Raptor male has a very tiny cut on his back from a cricket that was a little too hungry. I put neosporin on it today and it looks better. Just put a little neosporin on it... please, don't worry it is barely visible. I just wanted to give you a head's up.
Thanks,
-Matt
Leopard Geckos Paradise"

I asked him to SEND information on them, all breeders should know what this means, hatch date, current weight, health, breeder name, website, email, phone number, address, then signed and dated. a SIGNED copy of their health. I've never had to ask for information to be sent to me. So I asked for information and he sent me this.

"Both of the geckos that I am sending to you have the same Mack Raptor Father (solid red-eyes) and different Mack Snow Albino Mothers. The DOB for the Mack Snow Albino Het Raptor Male is 6/14/08 and the DOB for the Mack Snow Albino Het Raptor Female is 3/21/09. I've already boxed them so I will not be able to weigh them nor will I be able to send pics to you. I don't have any information on the Mack Snow Enigma that I originally sent to Ken.
Thanks,
-Matt
Leopard Geckos Paradise"

So I'm going to have to print the page that he gave that info on, it's just as good as a signature of it I guess...

Here's a picture of the gecko, with the cut.

I really don't want to keep starting stuff, so I'll leave it at that. My thoughts can be assumed.

She's a pretty girl. At least you'll have some beautiful babies once you get them cleaned up, healed up and healthy.

Yup. They should be great for next season. The Male's 64g. =D And can put on some more weight in his tail.

At least I posted this thread. Help some others out.

And i'm still not sure why I can't edit my posts...
But I wanted to add...being in the leopard gecko community I know one person who's going on MY do not buy from/sell to list.

Well, no one will be buying anything from Matt Shrimplin off GeckoForums, because after this "resolution", he will no longer be a member there and therefore cannot sell geckos there any more. Got to do my best to protect my fellow geckophiles.

I'm really sorry you had to go through this Allee, but thank you for posting it. I've looked at his site a few times, but something kept me from buying.

Good for you Kelli! This guy is not only a discredit to honorable, caring breeders/sellers, but a
shady, untrustworthy individual. Even worse, he obviously does not provide the necessary
care to insure healthy specimens. I'm sorry that Allee got sub-standard replacements but happy they are OUT of Matt's hands. Buyer beware!

Definitely on my do-not-buy-from list... I thought about getting some, too. Thanks for the save, ha. Shame on him...

Good luck with your animals.

~Kasey

Aww Allee.. seriously he couldn't even send good replacements.. I can't agree enough with what was said above. And I hope Kelli does keep him off the site.. I hate when sellers just come on their to post classifieds and not actually contribute to posts.

Definatly a guy I would not buy from.

I just wanted to relay some of the emails I have received from Matt Shrimplin over the past few days regarding the deletion of his ads and the removal of his account on GeckoForums-

When he was banned on October 29th he received this message:

Infraction for Matt Shrimplin:
User: Matt Shrimplin
Infraction: selling and shipping injured animals. go sell your geckos somewhere else, please. I have to protect the members of my website.
Points: 20

you are now officialy gone from this site

Please go elsewhere to sell your animals. Thanks,
Kelli

I received the following email the same day from Matt-

Kelli,
What the heck are you talking about?!?!?!?! I have made things right with Ken's friend Allee even though my gecko that I sent Ken was no where near what the recent pics are that I saw recently! You need to give me the decency of an explanation of who supposedly received an injured animal from me! You are not being very informative on your accusations. We live in America and I know that you are demonstrating some extreme prejudice without proof or seeing both sides. I have sold over 400 geckos in the last two years and have only had two customer complaints. I have rectified the situation with Allee. Please, respond ASAP!
-Matt

My response-

Matt-

You sent out an injured gecko as a replacement. The first gecko you sent had an injury. Why are you selling and shipping injured geckos? We can start with that.

His next reply (I received this a couple of hours ago)-

Kelli,
Not in the sense nor the shape that you are making it out to be. Once again, regardless of ever rejoining the geckoforums, please take down the faulty statement about me "Selling/Shipping Injured" animals. You are misleading people about the overall care that I give my animals. I can't tell you how many people have contacted me about this situation. Like I stated before, I have sold over 400 geckos and do not feel that this one situation is a fair representation of my business as a whole. Whether you realize it or not you are publicly slandering my name with faulty accusations and malicious intent.
Sincerely,
-Matt Shrimplin
Leopard Geckos Paradise

My final response-

Matt-

Either you did or you didn't, and we both know the answer is that yes, you did sell and ship injured geckos. Twice to the same person. I don't care how many geckos you have sold. I have sold and shipped thousands upon thousands of leopard geckos and not one was ever injured. GeckoForums.net is a privately owned website and I can choose who I want to be there.

As far as removing the message, no, I will no do it. Slander is irrelevent to this situation. Libel is something that is published that is false, and the statement you are asking me to remove is true. It's not malicious or wrong, it is the truth and can easily be proven to be such. Do not contact me again.

I just figured I would document all that here. Further emails from him will simply be deleted and/or account blocked.

Well, before I could block his account I did receive one more message from Matt. I'm sure you all saw this one coming

Kelli,
I'm sorry that you feel that way. You have left me no choice but to seek legal action in this matter. Whether or not Geckoforums is a privately owned web site there are internet laws against slander and maliciously trying to wrong a person's reputation with false or misrepresented information.

Leopard Geckos Paradise

my reply-

Matt-

Oh by all means, that is your right of course. However, be forewarned that I have excellent legal representation with one of the top law firms in the state of Texas. Matt, you may think you have business troubles now because of your own actions I might add (the selling and shipping of injured geckos) and people finding out about it; if you file any sort of lawsuit against me you can kiss your leopard gecko business bye-bye because your name will be ruined completely after that.
