    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Today I noticed that one of my mealworm bins had quite a few small beetles. Then I found 3 that are super tiny. I'm not sure if the littlest ones are another species(not sure how more then one would have accidentally got in there) and they hybridized with the regular ones. Or if its a dwarf/super dwarf thing or what. I'm thinking its the 2nd options because they look like tiny mealworms beetles to me. Even little details, like the almost unseeable ridges down a mealworms wings are still there on the little ones.

I can't think of a possible reason to push for little tiny mealworms sense the worms of regular sized ones already start out microscopic. But still thought it was kinda interesting, so I separated the 3 tiny ones and put them in a little mini culture for the heck of it.

first picture shows a good 1 2 3 shot of the 3 sizes lined up in the bottom center.

My monitor here is about shot and pics on it are quite a bit darker than they should be so I can't see the detail that is most likely there. They look like they might be dermestid beetles to me though.
They are commonly found in insect shipments and occasionally show up in closed colonies.
Usually they are introduced from a cricket shipment though.

looking those beetles up on google they do look like that, but they also look like little mealworm beetles, although the worms look way different and I didn't see any of those(not suprizing though). I found another one in a different bin now. I mix things though sometimes, so I'm not sure if that means much. I seem to have a lot of the medium to small beetles in some bins. Maybe I should try breeding for size for a while.
