In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone,

I have owned snakes all my life (currently have one normal ball and a pastel boa) and would like to get into monitors. Any such thing as a slightly tamed one?

I am just looking for a medium sized monitor that is somewhat tame and handleable, around 4' full grown. Not looking for anything special in terms of genetics, and nothing too expensive. I don't know much in terms of breeds (anyone got any suggestions?) I like the peach throat, timor, and dumeril, but always open to suggestions. Thanks!

what about a savannah? or a couple of red/yellow ackies??
(i'd go with the ackies though because there are not many CBB savs. and they have a great personality for monitors)
just google them and figure out which one can fit you the best!!! do lots of research and read as many books as you can. talk to experienced herpers, join monitor forums, etc.
just a reminder, though, monitors will never be completely 'tame'. they will just learn to trust you and be calm around you.

Savannah Monitor

Hey! Saw your were interested in monitors..!
I have a very young Savannah Monitor, about 8 inches long, 7 months old....
I've been trying to find him a home because college is kind of killing me, and I don't have the time for him.
Proper socializing will make him a great pet.
But, since he's young, it'll be great to start with.
If you're interested, please let me know. You can have him for a small re-homing fee..
Or possible trade.
:)

Sorry, I've got my two ackies now, but thanks anyways
