    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i bought a baby savannah monitor in late october. since then she has grown, thickened, and become very healthy looking. she eats non stop, and her appitite is anything but the problem. lately her nails and the tips of her toes have been going limp and falling off. i dont think it is a shedding problem. i check her toes for old dead skin. this is my first savannah monitor, i have had leopard geckos before, though nothing this big. shes not quite tame. and she gets very angry at me sometimes. she has only bit me twice before though.
right now she is about 10 inches and in a 20 gallon long tank eatiing pickys, fuzzies, crickets, and mealies.

if anyone knows whats wrong with her, or if anyone has any tips for me. ill post pictures of her soon.

Lack of humidity

Sounds like lack of humidity due to improper caging also do you let it walk on carpet? Without detailed husbandry and cage conditons only incomplete answers and suppositin can be provided.

I had the same problem with my first savie, although i found no cause for the problem. Just letting you know your not alone.

thanks. i have made some changes to the tank. i have made the substrate deeper, and i have covered the mess lid about half way across to lock in humidity.
shes loking better since i have donw that. shes being a right b**** lately since ive done that though. but i think thats just her being a young savy. she dosent go on carpet. i cant barely trust her just to walk around my bed.
