    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Medusa Reptiles A Rip-off!

You're gonna need to elaborate a bit on what happened.

i bought from them also, they sent my turt four day mail by usps. which is illegal, and it hurt the turt. they refunded some money to me, but did not send me the animal i had been sent pics of. see the other thread in this same column listed under crittersgirl...which is the same people as medusa.
i know they only ship a couple of days a week, did you try and contact?
how long have they had your money.?
 
I ordered 4 3-toed boxies on July 29. I emailed them several times with no response. my emails started getting returned unknown. I filed a claim with Paypal at this point. He finally responded to me saying he would ship them ups on Aug 16 for arrival on Aug 17. Still no turtles. So, now I'm warning everyone else not to order from them. it's been over two weeks now. More then enough time to get them to me or at least respond. He changed his email address to avoid me. what does that tell you?
 
i know of two email addresses for them, only from my own looking around.
the first one that doesnt work now, is [email protected]
the newer one is the email listed with medusa reptiles, [email protected]
the first email addy spits out and returns, the other accepts, but i have not gotten a reply.
 
the first one is the one he changed - that was where i was dealing with crittersgirl. Apparently, they split up and she took all his money (so he says), he started a new job, and he moved - all at the same time. I have the second one, but again, I'm not getting a response from him at that one either. I just emailed him yesterday when the turtles did not arrive and told him I didn't want them anymore - just send me a refund via PayPal, but I haven't heard from him since.
 
its a shame they wont do honest business...the turt they sent me is lovely, if only a little damaged, tramautized and very late in comming!
i would have bought more...sequoia is so pretty

GUESS HE SAW ONE OR MORE OF MY ADS- HE JUST EMAILED ME. HE SAID HE'D SEND ME MY MONEY AS SOON AS HE HAD ENOUGH IN HIS PAYPAL ACOUNT. LIKE I BELIEVE THAT ONE!!
 
i hope he does! i realize they are starting a business, but they need to do honest work.
i hope you get your money back, and find some lovely turts also! please keep us posted.

how could he miss them? i posted everywhere he does. Except kingsnake doesn't let you post. I did send a complaint to their complaint department though. Maybe they contacted him. I hope so. That is no way to do business. Happy turtling!
 
Is there a name attached to this person beyond "Medusa Reptiles"? Like something that might be on their birth certificate?

There are a lot of startup and small time herp businesses which incorporate "Medusa" into their name, you'll want to be more specific about who these particular ones are- this avoids condemning potentially innocent businesses and similarly avoids associating an even worse business with these people. As an example, I know of a medusa reptiles which was run by a guy named Marc (Something, don't remember his last name) that I know was a crook and a scam artist, but am hesitant to add my opinions about him to a thread which is potentially about someone else.

Plus I've seen a few instances where a thread which was ambiguous about it's subject, as this one is, was deleted by the moderation team until the original poster could make it clear who the subject was.
 
Ok every one I have read dozens of replys about people geting riped off. You probably dont want to here this from a 17 year old ball python lover but i has to be said. Every one that buys from private breeders is takeing a 50 50 chance. Just because you do your part of the deal does not mean they will. 80% of the people in this world are not truthful people. I took that same chance buying two het for albino baby ball pythons. I took the chance and I was lucky enough to find someone a truthful as David Rautio. But on the plus side my grandfather is a well known judge and is training me to become a good one, oneday. So I will be damed if some one treated me that way. That is fraud and is illegal so they would be in court just like that. Also all you Fake breeders or liers one day you will <font color=red>[**censored**]</font> with the wrong person and they will track you down and handle it legaly. Also i dont know if you all know but you can be tracked from paypal so think twice before trying to rip someone off ;)

he accused me of trash talkin him, which i havent done. i have just stated the facts, with pictures. in my other thread.
he still swears my turt was not wild caught, and that the injury did NOT occur during shipping...i felt i should tell yall these things. so that yall know he has at least contacted me, and tried to set things straight. i get the feeling that dawn was the crafty one, and this tim feller might have gotten taken for a ride too.

maybe im just being too simple :)
 
I know he's reading this cuz he told me he knows I'm trashing him here, but if he were the honest one, why didn't he answer my emails? I told him if he worked with me, I'd work with him, but he doesn't answer. He's trying to avoid everything. It's not going to go away. I still want either my turtles or my money. But he needs to cooperate and answer me when I email him.
 
Call his local law enforcement agency, it worked for me. I had a problem once and all it took was a sheriffs deputy knocking on the ladies door and she was sending my snakes.

They are definitely reading this board, I made a post on the crittersgirl topic stating that nobody would sell captive bred box turtles at a low price. If you look at their add now on kingsnake, its not cheap anymore...like 80 dollars.

I received a refund through PayPal from Dawn. I have apologized to Tim for inconveniencing him and his business, as she was the one who cashed in the PayPal and took off with the money. He was victimized as much as I was. He was willing to refund the money when he had it even though she was the one who took it. I would think twice about doing business with crittersgirl if that's the way she operates. At least Tim made an effort to rectify matters although she left his life in tatters. Again, I apologize to Tim for putting the pressure on him when she was the one who took the money and made no effort whatsoever to return it or to contact me or ship me my animals.
 
His problems are not yours. Never apologize to some one you sent money to just because they cannot get their act together! Would you apologize to McDonalds for paying for your food then wanting your money back because the guy working the grill walked out and there is no one there who can make your food?

I hardly post on here anymore but I look all the time, this BOI would hardly even be needed if people bought from reputable people in the 1st place! Generally, if you stop looking for the "bargain" you will find your orders are shipped and recieved when they are supposed to, and the reptile will not only be what it's supposed to but it will be healthy and damage free!

But, thats just my point of view... and it works for me.
