    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi i ordered some flexwatt from matt. he said i should have it by last week friday. then i emailed him because i still didnt get it on saturday. he told me he was going to ship it yesterday and i was suppose to get an email confirming that he shipped it. well i still didnt get an email from him so i emailed him. so far this transaction is not going so good.

Way to go Andre, beats me why you didn't provide proof of age. Looks like that put you on the short end of the stick. Matt just blew away your whole line of defense away with those e-mails. Matt, perhaps if his parents were to call and speak with you and verify any information you might be looking for, you would sell to him. He to me just seems like a very eager kid looking to get started on some project. I am sure a quick talk with a parent can straighten this all out.

There should be no age restrictions to the BOI if that is what you mean DAND. That would leave all the responsible minors that have a brain without being able to make BOI posts. Minors posting a BOI post are fine unless they are completely ridiculous like this one.. What about all the minors that really know what they are doing and won't make these stupid posts? A better idea might be to restrict it from minors unless they have a good reason or are "voted in". Not fair to just banish it from all the paying minors. Doesn't sound fair to me. :shrug01: If that is what you mean DAND.

Struck a nerve huh? Sounds like you may be a minor too.

You may not understand that a minor CAN NOT legally enter into an agreement/contract. Therefore minors should not be posting on the BOI.

But, to answer your first and last question/sentences, I was actually referring to the lift of the Paid Participant and higher memberships being the only ones allowed to post on the BOI. Since that stipulation has been lifted there has been a number of idiotic posts on the BOI.
 
Well I do have to agree with Jon.. I do think there are responsible people out there that are underage but Andre is not one of them. It would be a huge hassle for Rich to say you can and you cant, that sort of thing. Now I have talked to ReptileZone before and believe he is a mature and intelligent person but is still a minor... I am wondering how Andre posted as his level is "Registered User" not even paid participant.. I didnt think you coudl post if you were not at the basic level of membership??? Anywho, now I gotta write a check and buy a stamp..lol
 
Yup, I am a minor but I am not like Andre. I can type fine and I give out my age to anybody I might deal with. It is not "illegal" to go into a deal. It is just that they can't go after me legally if something goes wrong. By making sure the person knows my age, there would be no problem. Am I wrong? I thought that was how it worked.. If the seller knows my age and goes through with the deal, then I am fine. If I was too go up to a person, buy a reptile or anything without them knowing my age, and the deal went bad, that is one thing I can't and will not do. I just think its pretty unfair to say all minors can't post on the BOI, some of us are responsible. If I am wrong with that whole thing let me know for the future.. It's hypocritical to say all minors should be banned from the BOI. And I thought that only paying members can post on the BOI?

I never knew that you don't need to be a paying member to post here. And yes that would be a good idea, it leaves the BOI to the more serious people that would know what to post and what not to. All ages make bad posts, it's not like it's just minors that post them. It should be pay to post in this forum because it helps weed out the people that are not as serious, which I believe you agree with. Yup, pay to post is the way to go I guess. :bolt01:

Like we had discussed about the boa, all I would need woudl be a brief Ya/Na from your folks and the animal woudl be on the way,,, Knowing what I have seen of other "kiddies" on the fourm I would not even with a parental consent as I would not feel they were capable to take care of the animal...
 
Andre, why did you not listen to the advice that everyone here offered you last time? If you want to do ANY business online, GET AN ADULT TO DO IT FOR YOU. If you can't do that, then don't sell or buy anything online until you are 18 years old. Before I had wondered if a BOI thread was the right place to bring the age issue up, but I am actually very glad that I made that post now. Learn the proper way to do business as a minor.
