In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I received my box from Mice Direct, yesterday. I was very pleased with the packaging! :)

Not only was the box filled with dry ice, it was also inside a styro cooler, which was inside the box! This was surprising to me because I had ordered rats/mice/rabbits/chicks/etc before from other suppliers and they always came thrown together inside a plastic bag in a box, and the dry ice was usually melted out by time I got home.

I ordered rabbits and rats...they were packaged so professionally and looked so nice that I put the orders in my freezer with my food (I have not done this before for any rats, etc, ordered from any other supplier!

I've been getting a good portion of my rodents from Mice Direct for a while now (I get as much as I can from a "local" source). I've never had a complaint about the quality of the rodents; and when UPS beats the crap out of the box, or keeps it for an extra day, I know they will fix any issues.
I definitely give them 2 thumbs up!!:thumbsup:

I'm with both of ya'll. Ive been buying from Mice direct for a awhile now, and have always been very pleased.

i have since switched over to live for my animals but when i was feeding f/t i loved using mice direct. i went to the website the other day and it is gone. said they have not renewed or was being reviewed for renewal. i was actually wondering if they had closed. hopefully the site is up and going again soon.

i just checked and they are back up already...lol

I agree with all of the above. Very professional packaging, and helpful service. I like that they could look up my account and know what I wanted before I said anything. Made ordering very easy.

well

glad to hear they got better with shipping. the one and only time i ordered from them 2007ish i was very dissapointed. my order was in a styro cooler with packing peanuts geez what a mess that was unpacking and it allowed alot of shifting and half my order was completely thawed out with bloody noses alot of them i just tossed. when i complained to them they said they would give a 10%discount on my next order, needless to say there never has been "another" order. im also not a fan of ziplock bags.

I always use Mice Direct for all my frozen rodents, and have for years- They are very accommodating to their customers and have great quality - I normally buy enough for an entire year, and I pick them up myself at the Daytona Expo to save on shipping costs. They are happy to bring my order to the show and the order is always in great condition, never thawed or any problems. :)

Perhaps an odd question, but does anyone happen to have a picture of the actual packaging the rodents are in?

I'm needing to order some more FT, and it's between these guys and another company I've used for a long time.

I apologize, I usually post pictures so that people can see for themselves what pleased me.

I'll post some pictures, tonight.

The pictures are a bit late, but do show that I expressed exactly what I believed...

First pic is the box it came in. Previous suppliers had only tossed their rats, etc.. in a plastic bag, and packed in a box with some dry ice without a styro to contain and maintain temps.

Second pic is the rabbits...the Ex-small is still quite large, and you'll need some BIG girls to handle them (I do!)

Third pic is a close up for more detail of the rabbits

Fourth pic is showing the rats, they are "Med" and 3 deep.

I am very particular about what I eat and what touches my food, "MONK" has nothing on me... so trust me when I say they were clean.

UPDATE: Have already fed 7 snakes (others are shedding) all ate without a problem.

Thanks for the pics Deborah. I love the attention to detail you bring!

Those look nicely packed and the boxing is impressive. I'm used to a box with insulation tossed in, and dry ice everywhere. I think I'll be giving them a try. Will update on how it goes for me.

Just placed an order with MD since the feeder company in Loxahatchee didn't think enough of me as a past customer to bother to address my email about or their issue of their fedex widget charging DOUBLE their usual shipping rate for overnight.

Anyhow, will update once I receive them. Hopefully they'll be packed as well as Deborah's were.

Definitely good guys/gals in my book

I just wanted to add to the chorus here, as I received a shipment of rats today from MD. They came in a very nice insulated box with an amazing amount of dry ice. Despite the incredible heat here, there was still dry ice in the cooler, and the rats were frozen rock solid. The rats themselves were generously sized, all packed immaculately and dry so that they pop right of the bag frozen. This company will definitely be getting my business in the future.

I've been using them, very happy. Clean rodents and shipped in 1-2 days, unlike mail order companies that ship once every 2 weeks since they have to source from a 3rd party... cough.

Besides the posts in this thread, has anyone else purchased from Mice Direct? Please tell me about your recent experience with them, was it good or bad?

Well, my experience is a few years old, but it was my one and only order with them.

First of all, I will say that the person I spoke to on the phone, before I placed my order, as I had some questions, was VERY nice, polite, professional, and attentive to my questions.

However, I was not pleased with my order, overall. Were the rodents usable? Yes, but there were some things that I didn't find that favorable.

Everything I received, from a size standpoint, was smaller than any other company I had ordered from, in the past. However, I know that there can be variances from orders here and there, but this was my experience.

Second, every bag of rodents was an actual frozen block of rodents, meaning, they were all frozen solid together by urine, and they all reeked of urine. Once the bag was opened, or ripped off the frozen block of rodents, you could smell the stench of urine right away. It literally took me 3 hours ( yes, I timed it ) to break apart all of the individual rodents to place in quantities, into each snake's particular bag stored for them each individually. 3 hours, and a lot of muscle work. HAHA!!!!

Also, there was so much fecal matter as well among and over many of the rodents, more than I have ever seen.

So, yes, the rodents were usable, but they were not comparable to the quality I normally received from other companies. Maybe I caught them at a bad time? Maybe things were not up to par then, so to speak, and maybe now things are different? I am always open to that. They may very well have much better and cleaner rodents now. I am not disputing that at all.

That is just my experience.

I had he exact same experience a few years back. Ordered once and will never order from them again.

Well, I'm disappointed this time around. I ordered two sets of 50 small rats and only received one, but my account had been deducted for both and I can't reach them by phone.

Being Deaf, I don't have that kind of time to just be calling if no one is going to be answering the phone, and I really don't like the taste this leaves in my mouth of having paid for something that I haven't received without any explanation of why part of my order is missing.

Apparently, they are only "on point" if you are a new customer and once they get a "good rating" from you, the quality of service plummets.

I will not be ordering from them again. I REALLY do not like the taste this transaction is leaving in my mouth and I have no time for this kind of despicable service.

If I pay immediately, I expect that I will receive my FULL order or my account will not be deducted for the missing order.
