The Louisville Lip
I met Michael Cole at the Tinley Park show last month and purchased a supposed female Green Tree Python from him at the show. The snake did very well for me, and after posting pictures of "her" on another message board, someone contacted me and was interested in purchasing her. We agreed on a price ( a considerable sum, at least for me lol) and I agreed to double-check the sex of the snake before receiving payment or sending her out. Its a good thing I did this, as the snake turned out to be a male (probed 12 sub-caudal scales deep)!
I contacted the prospective buyer and informed them of the bad news.....then I contacted Michael Cole and informed him of the slip up. His response was very unexpected, but very welcome. Michael offered to compensate me monetarily for losing out on the sale because he goofed on the sex of the snake! Maybe I am a bit jaded, but I cannot imagine many people in this hobby offering to do that a month after the transaction was made (can you?). Michael came out of pocket to amend a mistake that he made, which is something that alot of people would not have done in my opinion.
After my dealings with Michael and his display of honesty and integrity, I would not hesitate to do business with him again in the future nor would I hesitate to recommend him to anyone else. We need more people like Michael in today's herp hobby! Thanks again Michael!
