• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Michael Gentry (Scam artist)

This is one of the saddest and most confusing threads I have ever read. Mike, I am sorry you lost your snakes to a scammer. I feel you had good intentions of posting this, and might not have thought that it would affect others by posting a retraction of it, or that it would blow up this much. Its a hard lesson to learn and Im sorry that it came about this way. Take away from it a couple of things, like shipping legally if you ever do again, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, and dont lie to cover your own butt or to try to "solve" things.
 
Well now I'm even more skeptical because this guy texted me looking to trade for my pastel champagnes. But said his name was Arnold and not michael gentry.
 
Fernando, how did you figure out that your "Arnold" is connected to the mysterious Mike Gentry?
 
Same guy texted me wanting to trade for a female stinger bee. Comversation started he introduced himself as Michael Ledbetter. After several conversations I agreed to a deal( couldn't find anything bad about a Michael Ledbetter) , and ask him for his shipping info then he sent me am address but now his name was Michael Gentry. Exact same address listed in this thread. He won't talk to me after asking him to explain this thread, or atleast whybhis name changed

How did you prove that you were not dealing with Lance Owens, and that it really was somebody named Michael Gentry?

No, you haven't explained how you came to the conclusion that it wasn't Lance, or that Michael Gentry is the person's real name. If you had, I wouldn't have bothered asking again. If those statements were legitimate, there is no reason for you not to explain the "proof".
If, on the other hand, you were putting up a smoke screen; I understand your defensiveness.

I even considered sending some of 2014 babies your way to help out, but I only help out those that can first help themselves out.

Fernando, did he say his first or last name was Arnold? Did he give you the the other,first or last as well?
 
I asked more about him and it turns out his name is Michael Arnold gentry. This is who he said he is. And that he had been wrong by a couple "kids" I told him because of his attention here I am skeptical. I asked if it bothered him and he said that it did. Soo I offered to help him clear his name but only of he shipped first. He said he'd have no problem but that it would be a one for one trade because he will test the waters. And that he must ask his wife first.

I didn't come to the conclusion, I am just trying to be done with it. He Michael gentry or whoever is trying to clear things up with now. Like the person below said.

No he contacted me again and were trying to clear it up. I'm sorry I was hostile but I didn't like how people's tones were.
