In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Michael Lawton

That dude would drive me batty. I definitely wouldn't waste the time on him since he can't ever make a payment. When I find a snake I want, I give them a definitive date I can pay or make a down payment to ensure I get it. Waffling around and never sending money obligates the seller to nothing.

I had a similar experience with him. He wanted a wholesale lot of corns that I was offering. He made plans for a payment plan and never paid. I even gave him an extra week a couple of times and he never came through.

I had a similar experience with Michael. He wanted to buy about $2500 worth of snakes from me on a 6 month plan. He started off paying fine but then he would disappear for 2-3 months at a time and then get mad when I would look to get updates. This went on for several months until I just gave up on the plan ever getting done. I ended up just sending him snakes that met the amount of money he sent me which was about $450. But after seeing what his collection is like from people who have purchased from him I wish I never sold anything to him

So michael just took $800 from someone. Cashed his check, did not send his snakes, and turns out michaels bank account was more than $800 overdrawn. He now is trying to claim the buyer canceled the payment, when a copy of the signed check was provided, and a bank statement proved the funds cleared. Michael lastly stated that if the buyer can lrove Michael is in the wrong he will pay the $800 he is owed in installments. Is this not a felony?

You should have them come post their experience here. Proof like screen shots of messages would be helpful too. Have you seen proof that he did this to the person or did they just tell you? I'm not saying he's a bad guy or a good guy but before I make that judgement I want to see proof.

Took a bit but I got some screen shots. I had to black out some naughty words.

Screenshot of the check that cleared. Mr. Lawton apparently can't issue a refund because he's overdrawn his account.

Found the "crypto" reference in the "Cornsnakes on Facebook!" group. I can't get screenshots of all 200+ posts in the thread, but the group is public so if you have a Facebook account you can read the whole thing.

Wow...I get holding for weather, or holding for a day or two while waiting for a paycheck to cash (I've been there and had awesome breeders work with me because I was upfront about it,) but I can definitely see why the decision was made to no longer deal with him.

I would have been done after he flaked on the first lot.

More Crypto and selling issues.

Here is a post from someone commenting on the previously mentioned post in Cornsnakes on facebook: One of the snakes from Lawton tested positive for crypto. Another screen shot of him still trying to sell snakes from his collection on the same day, and a few days after. Then a shot of him saying that "Just cuz the vet said it looks like crypto doesn't mean it is..."
He is correct that so far no one has posted vet papers stating that any animals have the disease for sure, however, Lawton still continues to attempt to sell animals with the knowledge that there is a possibility his collection has it.
I think this speaks volumes about the kind of businessman he is.

Don't worry...people will be hesitant to sell even a pet rock to you if they read this stuff. You're a nightmare buyer and you sell stuff with crypto. Good stuff.

Thanks for bumping this Mike, I missed it the first time it was posted so your comment bringing it back to the main page was great. It's good to know who in the community to avoid. Thanks Mike, and thanks Sarah!
