    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sam - first I want to thank you for posting on this guys new auction to look here - had I not I may have bid on that "pastel" and ended up paying thousands for a dead snake. In no way is this your fault - it is the shippers responsibility to ensure safe arrival and guarantee such. And he should definately have told you point blank - this snake cannot ship until it has digested it's meal or at least flat out told you that he would not guarantee live arrival. Personally if you compare the two photos I don't think it's the same meal. If you look at the amount of streching on the first photo as compared to the second - that size of a meal would have shown considerable stretching further down than it does - also the positioning of the snake and the fact that one picture has a date and the other doesn't and the one that does have the date is cropped? It all just doesn't add up. Sorry - It's just too easy to stick a date on an old photo.

Anyway - just wanted to say thanks for directing us to this thread - I hope noone gets screwed any further. And I hope you get your money back.

The more I look at the pictures the more I’m convinced that ball died asphyxiated trying to regurgitate: 1. a prey that was too large for her; 2. Inside a bag with not enough room for maneuvering. She probably got exhausted and gave up trying with an occluded glottis. The unsuccessful attempt to regurgitate the rat was more than likely a combination of the stress of shipping (bumps, change in environment) plus less than optimal temperatures during transit.

Isn't it a sad day when our comments on this board have an effect on whether somebody receives a refund or not?

Yes, it is. But remember that when a person feels he has no possibility of redemption (even after returning the money owed) you are in reality setting him free from any obligation. Most agree to do the right thing just because it represents a chance to recover their good standing. If you take away that possibility, it’s just between him and his conscience. Regrettably not everyone has one.
 
True Dan, but what defines the measure of a man? The general public concensus? I do believe in redemption and the power of that knowledge. However, I also firmly believe that said redemption is a gift that can only be earned. It is earned through sacrifice and doing the right thing. It's being the man who you really should be even though nobody else will see it. It's doing what's right regardless of whether you hear the applause. Honestly, this board is meaningless to me from the standpoint of deciding between right and wrong. In this case, the measure of what type of man Mike is should not be measured by the words that are typed here. It should be measure and determined solely by his conscience. That is how I have judged him thus far and it will continue to be his jury.

Daniel, you've made so many good points of late that I can't even give you more rep points for your posts.

Suffice it to see I agree heartily on your opinions. (good heavens, does this make me a follower? a fauna flunky? one of the "masses"?)

I hope this situation is resolved fairly for the humans involved....nothing can be done for that poor ball python :(
 
Sorry for not replying back soon enough. I just wanted to let everyone know that Mike did do what he said he would to make it up to me. Mike sent me some replacement animals that, money wise, far exceeded the value of the previous animal. Mike knows what he did was wrong and hes truly sorry for that and we're both moving on with our lives.

Again I thank everyone for their support as I don't think I could have come this far without your help. Thanks a million!!
 
Sam, I am very glad that things worked out for you. However, I fear they would not have if it were not for you bringing this to the BOI. It appeares that Mike only complied becuase he wanted to avoid any more unnecessary negative exposure that would have surely come as a result of not "making things right".

Mike, the fact that you did not handle this properly when it was originally brought to your attention, and only after it was brought here speaks volumes to the rest of us. The fact that you lied about what happened and posted outright lies about Sam proves that you are lower than pond scum in my book (and I do not think I am alone in my opinion).

I think the only sad thing is the situation happened in the first place but disagree about withholding our comments. It would seem that Fauna has contributed to the resolution in this thread, which shows its VALUE and usefulness again. Resolution should be the goal along with leaving a record of events.
 
It does seem that there are a GREAT many out there who think they can do it if they don't get caught doing it. It being whatever it is that they KNOW they should NOT be doing.

It also seems that most of them, those doing "it" when they know "it" is wrong, will, once under intense public scrutiny, make it right to "save" their name or reptutation or whatever.

HEY, catch a clue, people of small intelligences. Yes, this is for you for whom limited mental training is a given.

DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME and no one will ever do aught but sing your praises.

Try to screw someone over and eventually it'll be brought to light and then we get crap like this thread.

Right is right and wrong is wrong and if you've got the brains of a bumblebee you MUST know the difference. If you know the difference then you must choose which you wish to do, right or wrong. If you have chosen wrong, please stop.

The little voice you hear that says it's wrong is the same little voice we all have. You, the wrong doer, need to listen better.

Dennis, I think you might have missed the intent of my post. I fully support the need and the effectiveness of the BOI. My point was that it is a shame that people refuse to do the right thing the first time unless it is brought to the BOI. In a perfect world the BOI would not be needed but alas, it most certainly is. I cannot imagine basing my decisions upon right/wrong solely upon whether something is stated on the BOI.

I know that I for one will never deal with Redneck and from the sound of it, many of you will not either.
